Unusual Properties of LSA Extractions
SWIM made and prepared a two step cold Non-polar/polar extraction of LSA from HBWR seeds and gradually used it over a year's period. Here is what he found out.
When the extract was put into the refrigerator, it became cloudy. When he took it back out, it became clear again when it became room temperature. He also noticed that mixing it with chocolate milk and leaving it to sit in the frig turned the chocolate milk into pudding! This makes me wonder if the extract contained pectins, which are vegetarian substitutes for gelatin.
Another oddity he discovered was that the extract darkened over time even thought it was kept in the dark. SWIM thought this may have been oxidation, however,
this shouldn't have happened since this was an alcohol extract.
Finally, as the extract aged, SWIM noticed that even though he would wait months between dosages, the trips became "softer". Their was less sensation of motion as time went on, and the "flash bulbs in [SWIM's] head" stopped happening. In other words, it was more bliss, and less experience.
This makes SWIM wonder if their were any unique chemical changes that took place over the several months the extract was in storage.
