how to take adderall without getting addicted

well swim likes adderall and it really helps him with work. hes wondering how he can take it and not getting addicted. right now, he is taking it about once a week with a small dose (maybe 10-20mg). how many times a week would it be safe to take, and what dose would be good? i find if i take a small dose of IR then i do not have problems sleeping but if i take xr anytime of the day i get insomnia. so i have one more question. is it dangerous to mix sleeping pils(diphenhydramine) when trying to sleep on adderall?

swim likes the xr's but he usually takes these for all nighters so he is glad he couldn't slee. swiy should take the dose that works for them...30mg is a good dose, if <20 is working then swim should stick with it.

Maybe instead of swim saying I am going to take this x amount of times this week swim should use it when he needs it, such that it averages out to this amount...swim thinks once a week is reasonable. So for example, if swim is having a hard week and is pressed for time/sleep maybe he could do it two or three times that week, then maybe the next two weeks he finds he doesn't really need it he could just lay off until he needs it.

This is mostly for work/school, but of course swiy can through in some recreational use in there everynow and then.

Mixing uppers and downers is usually frowned upon, but swim finds that he has no problems and it actually helps soften the come down when using downers (particularly benzos) when he is done with his stim's. So the main thing to avoid here is taking these together near the peak of the experiece and particuarly limiting the amount of downer they take because when the stim wears off its effects become multiplied.

Just make sure swiy makes a schedule and sticks to it and he'll be fine.

ok that will work. swim has been taking them on fridays because swim would ahve something to look forward to when the week is over. but swim will just use it when he needs them. if swim was pulling an all nighter and took 10mg xr of dextroamphetamine around 6pm, then would he be tired the next day for a test? or should he take another small dose of adderall xr to boost him through the day?

and so i should be fine if i just took 50mg of diphenhydramine at the comedown if im not pulling an all nighter?

hmm well swim usually gets 30 mg xr and would take about 2/3 of it at 6 pm and the rest at around 2 hours before the test, this will usually take him through the day and he might crash with some benzo's later on that nite.

it doesn't really matter whether you are pulling an all nighter, your comedown depends on when you take it and what you take (dose, ir/xr)

but, if swim were to say work during the day and had ir's he would take them in morning/before work and that night when he wanted to sleep he would take some xanax or valium...swim has never tried diphenhydramine as he has found benzo's far superior for helping comedowns...benzo's are a very good drug to have on hand, they can be good for stimulant comedowns as well as stopping a bad psychedelic trip, plus they have great recreational value all their own!

diphenhydramine is not a downer, it does not depress one's CNS, so it why wouldn't it be safe?

i dont know but it seems unpleasant. its just a crappy sleep aid that i believe is also a mild anti psychotic. which would explain why SWIM feels freaked out when he takes diphenhydramine, suicidal even. he cant sleep and feels he wants to sleep so bad hed make it permanent.

Yes, benzos are the best when coming down off of Adderall, but they do not help me sleep. The best thing that puts me right to sleep after crashing on Adderall is a muscle relaxer called Zanaflex. The best thing about it is that you do not build up a tolerence for it and it works quickly.

is zanaflex or any benzos OTC? i dont think i can get ahold of any benzos if they are all prescription.

^^^ yes, in the US all benzos i can think of are rx or schedule I...this may be different in different parts of th world...americans can go to mexico and get a prescription of rohypnol pretty ez....just bringing it back across the border is a prob...if swiy is 21 though they can bring things back that are legal.

take it occasionally and swiy will feel very few negative effects.
take it regulaly and become tweekhead mcgee with teeth which dig into his gums and bones as brittle as overcooked beef.
there are no over the counter benzodiazapines. but if you live in a red state and claim cattle swiy can buy in kilo amounts without ANY problems.
phenazepam has no schedule/control.

XR is terrible with sleeping for swim also because he processes it so slowly, maybe swiy has the same problem?- multiple IR doses through the day work fine however. Last semester swim took three doses in a day, monday wednesday and friday for 4 months and had no trouble on the days off or stopping for the summer, if anything the only pull was in the first week or so of taking it, after that it didn't matter either way (likely the brain getting less impressed by the shot of dopamine). Two days in a row created tiredness and a decrease in drive when coming off, so that seems to be good to avoid (could probably lead to addiction), also, keep dosing the same always unless it really stops working for swiy- this will keep chasing the euphoria at bay and have the adderall work for it's intended purposes.

How to not get addicted: Don't increase the dose.

Tolerance develops rapidly to the euphoric effects of amphetamine. The "therapeutic" effects, like focus and attention, do not develop tolerance in many/most users and can even become more powerful over time (sensitization).

My Panda found piracetam to be useful for potentiating the adderall experience to get more out of smaller doses. It only makes it stronger to an extent, but the quality of the experience differs as well. When my Panda has a tolerance to adderall he doesn't notice the effects as much, but when he has none he finds he only needs very small amounts to get the job done whereas he would otherwise just take more adderall and not get as effective use out of it. He tries to avoid daily or very regular use of amphetamines in general, so more prudent use of adderall paired with piracetam (5-10mg is all he needs with little to no tolerance with this combo) works fairly well to keep overall consumption down and productivity up.
