Please Advise!! THC confirmation level 235!
I have a friend in the military who just popped on his drug test. His THC level is 235, and I believe the allowable level is only 15. He doesn't want to say that he has been an avid smoker, so what can he do? Is it probable that he can say that he just partied really hard a few days prior to taking the test? What would be an acceptable and believable answer to his level being so high? Please help!!! He popped during his last two weeks prior to getting out!!! Really sucks!!! Now he isnt sure what is going to happen, especially with his GI bill, disability, or possible brig time. He only wants to say he smoked one time.

Re: Please Advise!! THC confirmation level 235!
Passive smoking is not a good one but he could say the following "I was visiting a friends house and we sat down in his kitchen to talk. As I was ready to go he had to pop up stairs to get a CD he had said he would loan me. Whilst he was gone I noticed some biscuits in a bowl ontop of the fridge so I helped myself to a couple. It wasn't until I had got home that I started to feel odd - my eyes became red and I was having difficulty walking straight and performing relativley simple actions - it was like being drunk, but not the same. I knew that my friend sometimes used marijuana and that it was possible to eat it so I phoned him up to ask about the biscuits (in America they are called cookies for some reason) and he said that he thought that a couple had gone and yes they contained around a gram each of prime marijuana." It would have been better to say that before the test though, as it's slightly more convincing that way round.

I think I should have added that he already admitted to smoking...but that was the extent of the info he gave. He has yet to be formally questioned so I just wanted to know... 1. Is it possible to score that high smoking the night prior (a lot) and never have smoked before...(he scored a 235 confirmation of THC, anything over 15 shows positive) He smoked a lot and the next day had a suprise drug test. 2. How high does the score go up 15 - ? |

Re: Please Advise!! THC confirmation level 235!
The score is a measure of the concentration of the drug metabolites in the urine, the units are nanograms / milliliter.
I found the following text at Erowid: "50 nanograms of THC metabolites per milliliter defines a "presumptive positive" by NIDA certified labs. This value was originally 20 ng/mL, but too many false positives resulted. So the level was raised to 100 ng/mL to reduce false positives. As of January 1995, the threshold was lowered back down to 50 ng/mL because drinking water would easily bring a positive below 100 ng. Be aware that these cutoffs are not universally consistent. I recently heard of a lab using a 15 ng/mL cutoff!" It seems that 235 is quite a high score, but it could probably be attained either through heavy frequent smoking or a single instance (a lot smoked) very close to the test in question. |
