Sure, your chance of having a heart attack might be quadrupled or so within an hour of smoking. If you're chance of having a heart attack right now is 0.001 percent, then your chance of heaving a heart attack after smoking marijuana is 0.004 percent. I'll take the risk.
good points

Re: Never heard of these side effects..but they sure are scary...

The increased heart rate is a scare tatic...this way when someone smokes they will think/worry about their heart. If its been a while start slow and take 1-2 hits because the point of green is to enjoy. My heart rate sped up few times because I was to high and got paranoid and let my mind to race.

Truth is Weed makes you slow, hungry, happy and lazy. Its like taking a vacation every time you smoke which is to relax. When people start wondering about their heart rate this means you have aniexty and are causing this issue upon your self. The heart is a very strong muscle and can takes years of abuse before any true issues arise. People who shoot meth/coke for years have more to worry about not pot smokers.

Most cases SWIM has gotten to high and is freaking him/her self out. Toke up and enjoy life not stress it.

Re: Never heard of these side effects..but they sure are scary...

That side effect list with mary is that way, because swiys are all just different...health wise..everything wise. About the heart rate thing- though I do not know how common, I assume not very common, but I do know that a person without doing any substance at all can give themselves a heart attack. Emotional trauma / shock; emotional truama for years (depression, anxiety, mental disorders, psychical stress). I remember this one serial killer they showed on television (wish I could recall his name) once who killed some his female prostitute victems by torchering them so badly they died not from any wound, but from pure shock. Whenever, for whatever reasons, you put your body, and heart through to much stress, you are at risk for a heart attack. Whatever age you are. Age does not obviously matter that much, unless you are older and/or have a heart condition. Mary can make swiys paranoid, and it can change the heart rate, but one would have to have some type of real flawed traumatic experience happen to them while on mary, to really catch a true heart attack. It would have to be over the limits of what one could bare, and for a sustained period of time. So next time swiys smoke out, just stay away from the local street gangs (if that isn't swiy), the neighborhood pusher (if that isn't swiy), and jester the molesters (dear god I hope that's not swiy).

This is the reason SWIM stopped smoking dope.
I was starting to get it too often, and though a normally confident person when sober, I started to think everyone was talking about me and conspiring against me, which made my heart beat stupidly fast, and generally made me feel ill.

Re: Never heard of these side effects..but they sure are scary...

I'm pretty sure that the only reason the heart rate increases is to compensate for the drop in blood pressure, so it's not like a pot smoker is at risk for having their heart explode or any thing.

hmm interesting,

swim thinks she will still stick with the main factor, asthink somewhere it was said above, everyones bodies r different, handle less handle more then others etc

and as swim is a smoker of cigs and MJ, as well as other various things that can be smoked, have to accept the risks and possible side effects etc with everythin done in life!

The symptoms of a marijuana overdose include nausea, vomiting, hacking cough, disturbances to heart rhythms, and numbness in the limbs. Chronic use can also lead to laryngitis, bronchitis, and general apathy. With chronic (long-term, frequent) use, the ability to learn and remember new information may become impaired.

Although rare, severe shutdown of blood circulation to the arms or legs has been reported in young people who smoked marijuana. In some cases, it was so severe that amputation was required. Marijuana may also serve as a trigger for heart attack on rare occasions, usually within an hour after smoking. Allergic reactions have been reported, some of which were severe.
Ridiculous.

Re: Never heard of these side effects..but they sure are scary...

swim has always had the increased heart rate since she was much younger, but then again, shes only 22 now, when do you stop being considered young ?
im with the generalisation that it is not really possibly tp die from it, im mean *techincally talking above it could be done, but for the average person toking up whether it be now and then or everyday, from something stupid they may do while under the influence yes, but thats not direct from the smoke itself.. if that makes sense?
