swim and swims brother are rolling on ecstasy right now, and swim wants to know if its true that if you take prozac about 4 hours into the roll, it can protect you from neurotoxicity or something of that sort? or any advantages to taking the prozac while rolling, quick response would be great!

I have read this on the site, it was posted by senior members so it is probably good information.

I think I read it should be taken during the come-down...it should be noted that everyday usage of ssri's can make rolling on mdma next to impossible

The fact that there is neurotoxicity at recreational doses in humans is still controversial and depends on how SWIY defines neurotoxicity. Neurotoxicity was generally induced in rats at doses much greater than human recreational equivalent doses, which was in turn prevented by administering fluoxetine within 6 hours of MDMA. This may not be necessary for most individuals planning to use MDMA. Fluoxetine also has a very long half-life, which will cause it to be around in SWIY's system for weeks, interfering with subsequent MDMA sessions. This may also prevent 5-HT2A receptors from up-regulating after MDMA use, diminishing the quality of future sessions with the drug. Also one must learn to translate certain aspects of MDMA research since most is negatively biased, such as "preventing neurotoxicity" very often means "preventing rolling" and "increases neurotoxicity" often mean "enhances rolling". Human research with MDMA is still very behind, but is moving along thanks to the MAPS organization, which so far does not seem to believe that neurotoxicity is as much a problem as the anti-drug people want SWIY to believe. SWIM personally would stick to antioxidants if he was in fear of any oxidative stress from MDMA.

I had this crazy dream... let me explain it.

This half-dog.. half-human creature named Dreamer was giving his other friend, the half-cat, some advice about X and Prozac because Dreamer has been off/on Prozac for year & Dreamer likes X. Therefore, Dreamer has tried many combinations with the two. Dreamer began, "If you are currently on a 'daily' dose of Prozac, stay away from X because 1) You won't feel any affects from MDMA & 2) You could be at risk of something dangerous happening (from personal experience). Remember, that's if your a regular daily Prozac popper. However, if you don't take Prozac regularly, and you want to take Prozac as a precaution to neurotoxicity risk, wait until your roll is complete! Dreamer thinks taking Prozac while blowing up only elevates one risk - the risk that you will ruin your X-tra special X-perience!!!"

2 monts ago SWIM rolled on 500mg MDMA(yes, way too high tolerance) and he took 50mg prozac 4 hours after intake of MDMA. That night he forced himself to sleep with some benzodiazepines, and when he woke up in the morning he felt just a little bit tired, but no depression or anything, it worked great!
