Cooking Marijuana Brownie (w/pics)

While swim was cooking his space brownies he decided to take pictures and write a simple tutorial. This is very easy to do and well worth the time spent.

THC Oil Extraction

Now since the oil is going to be used for a brownie mix the amount of oil depends on the directions on the box of brownie mix.


In this case 1/2 cup. Swim uses a bit more than 1/2c but not much more.

The oil is poured in a pot and placed on simmer while he measures out the marijuana.



You can use as little or as much as you want but swim prefers 10-14 grams per box of brownies with mid grade weed. The amounts of THC differs depending on the grade of herb one has so it does make a difference but is just a matter of preference.

Also you can spend the time picking the seeds and stems out of the weed or just break it up and throw it all in. Swim has tried this both ways and didn't notice much difference so he saves time and adds it all at once just making sure it is finely broken up.

So now you can slowly add your herb to the warmed pot of oil.






Let this simmer for a bit, around twenty minutes or so or until the color changes from green to brownish black.




Turn off burner and let cool while you prep for filtering.

Swim uses a simple tea strainer with a square of paper towel for extra filtration. The paper towel is saturated with fresh vegetable oil before filtering THC oil.




Now swim filters his THC oil into a glass measuring cup. Note to use glass if your filtering your oil hot as it will melt any plastic and create a very nasty mess.





Try to pour off all liquid first and leave the cooked weed for last. Scrape all cooked herb into the strainer carefully as to not spill any in the already filtered oil and press out remaining oil with a spoon.





Trash the cooked herb as it is of no use anymore.

Now you have your THC oil ready for whatever you want to do with it. It does not have to be used for brownies but it can be used for any dish using oil.

But for space brownies simply mix as directed.

Swim does his a bit different and places these into a muffin pan for ease of use later when he passes them out. He uses his favorite muffin liners as well.



The inside of the cups are sprayed with cooking spray to keep them from sticking to much to the paper.



Fill about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way full. They will rise a bit so do not overfill. Swim also being the chocolate freak added a few chocolate chips into the batter for an extra special touch.


Place these in the oven and bake until done (toothpick inserted and comes out clean)


For a final touch swim bought the brownie mix with a package of chocolate frosting. He intentionally left out a tablespoon or two of THC oil for this (Which is why he added a touch more oil than 1/2c in the beginning).



Mix frosting with leftover oil.




Spread this tasty treat on your cooled brownies and your done and ready to eat!!




Yummy!!!

Don't forget plenty of milk....

swim has had two experiences with these...the first time a friend did the butter extraction and used that in the brownies. swim ate two of the brownies from a batch that was made using 1.5oz of schwag, but swim didn't feel anything. Interestingly thought, these were THE BEST brownies he has ever tasted (this almost made it worth the weed). Swim doesn't know why he didn't feel it as he was with friends that ate the same and they felt it (c'est la vie).

The second time they just dumped the weed in there. The brownies were nasty, but it got swim high as a kite.

Next time he'll have to do this method.

Wow! Swim used this technique with just under 3/8ths of marijuana last night. The results were amazing!! 5 people ate at one time and swius were all so giggly at one point swius were all laughing uncontrollably for probably 5 minute intervals. It was more "trippy" feeling in the sense that we were essentially obliteratedly high. Swim fell in love with this new high!! (This was way better than the first time they made them...)

Swim did this a few months back witg only 5 grammes of weed. He did, however eat 1/4th of that.

Like quili says, it's much more trippy. In swim's opinion, it wasn't at all times fun, and the experience was quite intense (although he doesn't have much experience with drugs) but it was still very interesting and he's planning on doing it again, maybe even within one of the next weeks.

SWIM wanted to know how much this process smells. For example, could it be done in a mildly public setting, such as suite living at college without anyone noticing? Or would the smell make it very clear what was happening?

It has odor to it, that's for sure. Not sure how that would go over.
