extracting ephredrine out of provocaine

hey im friends got s problem he aquired a bunch of ephedrine, but later found out it was cut with something, we think it might be provocaine, but we arent sure, the reason we think this is it makes your tongue go a little numb, but really it could be anything, i was thinking that u cant base ephedrine with amonia cause the ph is to low that if you based it with that it would get the provocaine out and leave the eohedrine
is this true, is there a better way
