Hydrocodone Side Effect: Anger?

Swim has taken hydrocodone rather frequently, and at ~30mg, during social interaction, he can be very friendly and talkative, and at other times, he notices that he's very easily irritated and gets angry for no reason. is this a known side effect that others experience? thanks

haha....yup. The line between personable and grouchy seems to be paper thin on low dose opiates. Most of my experience with with kratom and oxy. However, I have NOT noticed this problem with high dose/high strength opiates. It is only when I take small doses that this problem becomes apparent. I enjoy opiates MUCH more when I am by myself. It's not worth doing drugs if they are just gonna put you in a bad mood. However...if you do a strong enough opiate...I promise you that this will not be a problem.

Swie told me that he also notes that effect. I think it's cause the dose is so small that it makes so easy to ground you (no high..) with "external" distractions..
Low-doses are better appreciated when in a relax, specially lying down.

Interesting. SWIM has noticed that only when interacting with new people or new situations does said person get angered mostly annoyed other than that everything goes well with said person. When alot of people talk at one time is really really bad. SWIM takes lots of hydrocodone and oxy and methadone

Swim gets that same feeling with lose dose sometimes.

Since the kid around the corner started taking them (7.5/750), I can really tell when a pill (or two or three) has been added.

SWIM is naturally almost impossible to get angry. SWIM can get annoyed, or sullen, or even sad, but he rarely even gets his temper up, much less loses it. No drug ever really changed this (though when he was doing coke constantly he just sort of became an asshole all the time) but for some reason opiates, particually oxycodone, give him a temper. Don't know why, but it's definately something he's consistently noticed, only time he can remember ever really getting angry about small stuff in the last few years is when he was on oxy.

my friend has had a long relationship with hydrocodone, and he has at times experienced a unique sort of irritability after the initial euphoria fades. this may be due to the fact that opioids depress the central nervous system. recent studies have found that such depressant drugs (like xanax, alcohol, etc.) actually increase aggressiveness, more so than stimulants. this may help explain these effects

yeah swim agrees....it is the sort of irritability that occurs with too little sleep....it probably happens because opiates are CNS depressants.
