Health - Insane in the Membrane After Taking Mushrooms?

swim was having a deep convo about shrooms with a good stoner friend and was told that the friends friend tried 3.5 dried for his first time and went insane during the trip and never recovered since, he was first brought to a hospital by the police after his mother called them and then was put in some kind of mental institution for testing and teaching.

He was told the kid was pretty much mind-fuked...the kid could talk a bit but no one is sure if he really understands what he is being told, it was like he had a stroke but the worst part was that no one ever told the mother why he went crazy....they never said anything about mushrooms so maybe he was never treated correctly and was given wrong medications or electro therapy..god knows what lol


swim only heard this story from one reliable source and doesn't have anything in writing so believe whatcha want, swim thought it was a joke at first until he was told the details and saw how serious he was while telling it. Swim forgot to ask if the kid was taking any other meds that could have had a negative side affect with the shrooms.



Has anyone ever heard of such an extreme case as this one?? swim used to think shrooms were really safe on such low doses....

3.5 isnt "such a low dose" for certain people, especially depending on what type of mushroom it was..which brings us to another point, the mushrooms this "friend of a friend" ate could have been toxic/poison ones..

but this story just sounds like a tall tale

Indeed, it doesn't sound particularly reputable. "A friend's friend" isn't usually a great beginning.

Also, if the mushrooms have any kind of decent potency, 3.5g is definitely not a low dose.

^^3.5 cubensis 100% sure, they all had around the same dose but only one flipped out.

swim wasn't trying to write a book here he was just passing on the news, a friends friend had to do.

3.5g is no low dose but at the same time, it's not a high enough dose to drive someone to insanity. This sounds like a fib indeed.

Perhaps this person also, maybe unknowingly, had taken an MAOI.
