Inspirational Drugs
Swim has been reading many posts that say without a certain drug they would be flat out boring. Swim has been feeling kind of low because swim has no imagination and misses being a child and being able to think freely. Now swim has no inspiration and wants to know what drug would be able to open up doors for swim and help with creativity. The problem is that there is nothing in reach atm...but swim still wants to explore drugs and alternatives to help get swim's mind back into a creative one. Swim is wondering if DXM is worthy of a try but its it truly worth it? What drugs are the best for inspiration? Considering drugs as a source of inspiration or as an aid. Sorry if there's already a topic on this.

Re: Inspirational Drugs
SWIM believes the psychedelics are the chemicals most likely to open creative doors and stimulate free thinking, at least for himself. He has found things like psilocybin mushrooms, mescaline, and other tryptamine and phenethylamine hallucinogens to be thought inspiring and worthwhile.
DXM is a dissociative; some people have found it "enlightening" while others think it just muddles and confuses the mind. SWIM thinks that pure DXM powder, though by no means without risks, is a reasonably good candidate for exploring dissociative phenomenon. However, SWIM thinks if the only way a person can get DXM is in a cough syrup form, it would be better to leave it alone. Drinking tons of cough syrup can be a nauseating, possibly dangerous way to achieve an altered state of consiousness and probably would be less than "creatively inspiring". I suggest searching for "DXM extraction" to read about ways of removing DXM from syrup to allow for a safer experience. Also search for "DXM health risks" because even in pure form there are dangers and risks SWIY would need to know about. Unfortunately quality psychoactive chemicals capable of actually expanding the mind can be rare and difficult to find these days. Don't settle for something low-quality and potentially nasty just because it's the only psychoactive available, because it may not have the effect you are expecting. There are ways SWIY can revive herself creatively without chemicals if she really needs to so don't settle for chemicals SWIY is unsure about. |

Re: Inspirational Drugs
swiy is looking for available drugs here right, swims instinct would be to recommend lsd or similar but swiy cant get her hands on that i guess! hmm, is there a headstore near where swiy lives? swiy could try salvia or some lsa containing seeds? these might help swiy, but swim says to research them well first if swiy is planning on doing them!
Oh and as JDreaming was saying maybe swiy should try other methods of inspiring creativity! chemo-inspired creativity can be short lived! |

Re: Inspirational Drugs
Cannabis is often said to enhance creative thought, I'm not sure what to think about that.
Swim once tried drawing after eating pot brownies, he was really high, practically having a light trip. He made 2 sketshes while in this state, and at first he said it took some time for him to come up with something to draw, it was pretty much the same like when he was sober. Now one of the sketches was pretty descent, but other once was just crap, it looked like a nuclear explosion when he drew it but when he woke up the next day it was just a bunch of squigly lines ![]() He does admit that what he drew was slightly different from what he usually draws, much like me he usually draws rather dark things, but the "good" sketch he made was actually 2 people kissing... He also mentioned that the ACT of drawing itself was in fact more fascinating than the result, it was almost as if the piece of paper was another dimension and he was manipulating it. Anyway, I think this differs from person to person, just make sure you don't depend on drugs alone to be creative. |

Chemo, as in chemical? SWIM might try getting hands on some LSA morning glory seeds and may have to find a way to get them. How many seeds does one need to make LSA like LSD from the seeds? Swim will report swims experiences here when the finished product is used. |

Re: Inspirational Drugs
all psychedelics will inspire creative thought, the one that brings swim closest to feeling like a child though (rather than feeling completely wacky
) is mushrooms- the world will create a sense of awe in swiy once again! however, I noticed on another thread you started you mentioned that swiy was unable to procure much in the way of interesting substances such as these, so maybe something else is in order... why not try meditation + a brain wave generator? or swim also found nutmeg to be an interesting trip, which is something that might be in the house already? ohh, and dont forget about nitrous (one of swim's favorites for inspiration) which is also likely in your house already ![]() good luck with whatever swiy figures out |

Re: Inspirational Drugs
While psychedelics do certainly enhance creativity, don't expect to gain artistic talents that aren't already within you. Remember that there are lots of other ways to expand your mind besides drugs. It may sound lame, but try reading some interesting literature or finding some new music. I know that after i read a good novel or poetry, it sort of gets my mind in gear and I become more imaginative.

Sounds like swiy would have trouble procuring it, but according to the web miprocin is nicknamed 'epiphany,' which swim would agree with.

The only thing swim could get swim's hands on would be seeds, specifically morning glory seeds could be obtained. Swim unfortunatly lives somewhere where there are nooo headshops or anything. Swim lives in a small tourist town and it seems there's no way to get hands on anything like that. Swim knows that in Colorado there are some cool stores...what other things inspire creativity or euphoria? Swim has been curious because of the lsd- inspired paintings, some of them are fantastic. |

where would nitrous be? Nitrous as in nitrous oxide? Swim tried nutmeg once and it was a euphoric experience, almost like mdma might be. It wasn't hallucinogenic though. Perhaps it was the mixing with alcohol. Is nitrous safe? Oh swim tried brainwave generator a few times, nothing happened. It was basically just weird sounds assumably causing you to go into some state. But it didn't seem to do anything, it caused no tiredness, no hypnotism, no altered state. Except for feeling a little weird afterwards. |

Swim is or has already been naturally artistic. Swim just seems to lack the imagination and the willpower, motivation, and energy to really do something creative. The things that come out- such as in poetry, are always leading to nonsense. There seems to be something missing. |

Re: Inspirational Drugs
nitrous is apparently very safe for those who use it. I hear the two dangers are oxygen deprivation (remember that swiy should hyperventilate prior and not their breath for too long) and b12 depletion (remember to take your vitamins kids!) -- both easily avoided if one is careful to think prior to using. nitrous makes music amazing for swim, he feels it as though it was flowing through his body- but the incredible insights might be the best part of the experience
good luck to swiy finding 'the' experience

Re: Inspirational Drugs
Cannabis is always a great way to kick-start the creative process, mostly because it facilitates abstract thought. Creativity is arguably based on abstract thinking, at least in part. And since it's human nature to interpret things in an abstract nature, it's not too hard for anyone to be creative at any given time. But the key is recognizing this abstract interpretation and allowing it to continue rather than tucking it away in the subconscious part of the mind. What I mean is, allowing yourself to make absurd connections between thoughts and ideas, for example. When you see a person crossing the street your brain interprets the scene in a million different ways but we only really pay any attention to the most logical interpretation based on past similar experiences. Like, you don't feel threatened by the person crossing the street because nothing has ever suggested that pedestrians are dangerous. But your mind still has to consider the possibility. This is how people write murder mysteries and the like. Because they can take the logical situations they see and apply their abstract interpretations. Anyway, it's not easy to do normally, due to the simple fact that we are subject to chemical filters which inhibit outlandish abstract thinking. Some drugs inhibit overall consciousness thereby reducing creative thought, like benzodiazepines. But Cannabis and amphetamine facilitate inspiration without impairing consciousness.

Re: Inspirational Drugs
In terms of inspiration whilest on the drug: LSD, Mushrooms, Cannabis, Mescaline, LSA, MDMA
In terms of drugs that give experiences that inspire afterwards (when looking back in retrospect): Salvia Divinorum, Ketamine, DXM, DMT (plus all the ones listed above serve well for this, too) Swim's never tried DMT, K, or Mesc, but draws this conclusion from reading a lot about experiences. |

Re: Inspirational Drugs
SWIM suggests SWIY examine what types of facets/creativity they want to look at/work in before doing anything. SWIM suggests that SWIY wait a few days, noticing only small nuances casually in their day to day life and then proceed to smoke some potent cannabis and ride the wave of "perceptual quilt" that SWIM got when smoking dank that influenced MANY creative works of SWIM's. SWIM advises harder drugs only if SWIY is ready for them and the consequences attached. Jesus, SWIM is starting to sound like SWIM's parents...

SWIM is a designer, so he has to be creative all the time.
Coffee and Tee are all the time favourites. Things that improve creativity the most for SWIM are Cannabis MDMx's doi's , dipt and of course Opiats that can be legally obtained from the doctors. Hallucinogens like Acid make SWIM wanna look at things for hours and play philosoph what is not that good if you have to work.. These days SWIM feels most comfortable and creative on Methylone. Sry i forgot the absolute favourite Cocaine.. Absolutely Cocaine Kratom is good too SWIM found out right now and maybe Skeletium tortuosum aka Kanna that can be legally obtained as 10x extracts.. Re: Inspirational Drugs
Can SWIY acquire Speed--perhaps through a legitimate medical perscription? On the whole, SWIM would recommend acid and/or mushrooms for opening new doors, viewing things from a different perspective and the encouragement of creative thinking. However, if SWIY is unable/unwilling to find these psychedelics, he could perhaps acquire some amphetamines through a legitimate medical perscription. SWIM must caution that the speed should be used sparingly, as long-term chronic use seems to diminish its creative and motivating capabilities--not to mention bringing on a whole host of possible side effects. However, when used in moderation, SWIM finds that speed is a great tool to jump-start his mind. Also, SWIM supports the idea from many of the previous replies that any true psychedelic substance has the potential to provide insight into one's life and the nature of reality. Hope this helps!

Re: Inspirational Drugs
Swim thinks that all drugs have the ability to inspire.
Cannabis is a favorite of SWIMs. It is always him with interesting thoughts and ideas. However, for more profound thoughts and creativity mushrooms always work well. |
