How to check if the weight is right?

SWIM wants to know how to check if his scale is right/calibrated. Scales will show different weights depending on who swim meets. So is there any household object or something that weighs the same everywhere? Is it true that a cigarette should weigh 1 gram?

And dimes weigh 2g...it seems like american coins aren't available for the OP, but i'm sure in whatever country he is in has coins and these usually have standard weights that are published by the government. google something like "weight of [insert country here] coins"

no idea i dont own scales,surprised? but remember to always use the same battery becuase each will be diffrent.weigh something over a friends place something consistant that will always be around like a coin

also if you want different weights check you local coin store for foreign money,hell the way our economy is going they will probably pay you to take the us money off their hands!
