Hash Smokers

Living in the UK, consumption of Hashish is reasonably common, although outgrown in numerous years by grass for various reasons.

However, SWIM has noticed recently the quality of UK hash is rising, and as is its consumption again. SWIM believes that this has been aided by a slight drop in the availability of grass and an even greater drop in its quality. SWIM has seen "Soapbar" and other low-grade hashs (Such as Rocky) almost disappear from the market with high-grade mercandise such as "Gold Seal" Squigy and Leb re-appear.

This has caused SWIM to become some what of a Hash smoker recently as it is also more economical.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Also, what is the quality and availability

There was a big bust a year ago in the north west which is probably the reason none of the low quality 'soap bar' is about. There is alot more of the mid range moroccan polms floating around but lebanese hash is probably not there. It is quite rare, even here over in Amsterdam.

Although SWIM has never had leb before himself, severeal of SWIMs older smoking partners have confirmed that it was leb. They smoked much of it in the 70's/80's so I am pretty sure they are right.

Could it have have possibly been turkish hash? It has a slight red colour and distinct chalky taste much like lebanese. Then again SWIY could well be right.

Across the Irish Sea, SWIM has not noticed any great increase in the availability of proper hash but is glad to see that soapbar's popularity is dwindling to the point where he couldn't even find it anymore should he be silly enough to want to smoke it.

SWIM would love to see some more decent quality hash make it here as he finds even the weed that doesn't contain grit to be somewhat suspicious.

SWIM was in Amsterdam this week and noticed the lack of Lebanese and Afghani hash on the menus compared to when he visited two years ago. Leb is available but you might need to shop around a little. He couldn't find Afghani hash at all. It seems as though production in the top hash-producing countries like Morocco, Lebanon and Afghanistan is under attack which is a great shame.

I think the quality of moroccan polm over time has remained pretty consistant, and most of the top shelf varieties are still around. Afghani hash is still around but the prices have been a little higher, especially those made by the traditional method. I think the lack of quality lebanese hash is something to do with a government crackdown a few years ago. Not so long ago coffeeshop de Kuil had a really nice red lebanese on the menu, one of the best SWIM has ever had! It is nice to sample something a little different.... but having said that SWIM does prefer the high quality moroccan polms.

I haven't noticed that in the South East. But most of the dealers SWIM buys off don't do much hash, only when grass is really sparce.

Swim saw soapbar a couple of days ago for the first time in about a year - the guys smoking it were in their late 30's and 40's. Cant believe people still smoke that shit.

There is some good hash available down south - swims friend has constant contact for manali cream but its expensive and not as powerful as the weed. Its beautiful for mixing with green though....adds a nice dimension to the weed high.

There is a never ending supply of the finest weed and hash of all varieties from every country imaginable over here.

Dutch weed, Jamaican weed, Columbian weed, Thai weed

Moroccan hash, Nepalese hash, Indian hash, Afghan hash, Turkish hash, Lebanese hash not forgetting the potent Nederhash!

lol swia sees people smoking hash and all the crap about it being better then soap. with the word of mouth at present. It jus seems best avoided unless swiy happens to come across real hash, swia always thinks its best to make your own from green rather then by the unknown.

Yes SWIA, one could buy a bubblebag, or silk screen quite easily and make some fine product.

Does seem the best way to make sure you're smoking decent product. In other words you know whats in it. Unlike Soap Hash which is highly contanimated
