Question Ketamine + Gastroesophageal Reflux

SWIM has done a lot of K recently, and he is now suffering from Gastroesophageal Reflux.

SWIM is wondering if ketamine could be responsable for the stomac pain ?

Re: Ketamine + Gastroesophageal Reflux

It's probably just normal 'heartburn' which will go away soon enough.

Re: Ketamine + Gastroesophageal Reflux

Heartburn is quite common, so it's also quite common in K users. There isn't any proof to support or deny the hypothesis that K causes heartburn.

It could be associated with the irregular eating habits that tend to go with K use.

Re: Ketamine + Gastroesophageal Reflux

I sufferd similar problems...the doctor said it was gastritis whitch means your stomach lining is raw whitch caused me to have a horrible burning type pain in the pit of my stomach. It kinda felt like if u got kicked in the solarplex hard to breath and sometimes i'd get realy anxious and worried and have to go to the emergency room . he said a combination of stress not enough sleeping and ketamine and alcohol caused it. He prescribed me a pill called pariot whitch makes it so you dont have as much acid and your stomach, after a week of taking this pill and doing no k my stomach was fine and i was able to snort as much as i wanted again without the pain . I was doing alot probably a gram or 2 every other day.

Re: Ketamine + Gastroesophageal Reflux

My friend isn't so sure that the consumption of Ket is linked to heartburn. It could well be, but he doesn't think so. Does Swiy get it frequently regardless of Ket consumption? My friend gets it when he drinks Coke or coffee, or eats spicey food. My friend says try not to worry about it too much, as it could be coincidence. When it happens again, just suck a Gaviscon or Rennie tablet.

Re: Ketamine + Gastroesophageal Reflux

My friend had this too, they had to go to er twice with it, the second time they had to stay in for 4 days while they did tests,

Swim didnt get acid right up to their mouth instead inbtween their chest the pain was constantly there and worse when they breathed in and out,

Swim constantly told doctors they thought it was the ket but they insisted it couldnt be (swim just thinks they dont know too much about it in england) anyway swim had scans, xrays and then had numerous bloods, taking stuff to nuterlise the acid in their tummy didnt help.

It went in the end having iv morphine did help as well as having their system flushed with fluids.

Swim has read stuff that says that ket is actually an alkaline not an acid so the next time swim got it swim took lots of lemon juice which is acid based to nuterlise the acid. It seemed to help???

hey this said Swim is no expert but without any expert advise swim had to improvise. Oh and another thing Swims liver levels in Swim blood tests where sky high..... was this the Ket Swim thinks so...

Re: Ketamine + Gastroesophageal Reflux

swim had to goto hospital twice becuase of "k-pains" both times they ran tons of blood tests, blood sugar tests, heart monitors and even gave lots of pain killers that did nothing. All tests came out looking normal. Even x-ray looked fine. Swim has tried almost everything, including 2day body detox and such and still nothing. The only thing swim thinks is to wait it out.

Swim knows its hard to deal with the pain, his pain was soo bad that his blood pressure dropped alot and he was about to faint and his eyes rolled in the back of his head...

Re: Ketamine + Gastroesophageal Reflux

k is directly the cause for the heartburn acid problem, if your doing it constantly as a regular high then eventually your gonna get it...it can feel like a heart attack sometimes if it gets extreme...get rushed to hospital only for them to tell you its your stomach..lololol...only thing to do would be cut it down and eat some tagment or acid reducer....if you keep doing it eventually you will start getting urinary tract infections..them are not very fun at all!

If this is a fact, can you provide any reference that is not anecdotal in nature?

been through 2 years of urinary tract infections caused from k...ask any long term user that used a gram or 2 a day...they would go away with antibiotics then as soon as started doing k again would come right back. not sure why it happens but a good handful of people in the same situation happed to them constantly...

as for the heartburn after long term constant use its gonna happen,im not alking about people that use it on the weekends im talking about people that party everyday

Re: Ketamine + Gastroesophageal Reflux

A chemical can not cause infections. Infections are caused by living organism (bacteria, virii). Either the infections were not related to ketamine, or the ketamine that your friend (don't incriminate yourself by the way) uses is contaminated.

Regarding the heartburn, I asked for reference that is NOT anecdotal. You simply repeated your statement (all heavy k users get heartburn).

when your kidneys arent doing what they are suppose to you will see protein in your urin...almost like you are pissing milk..not sure if its because the k isnt being processed thru the kidneys right or what...that im sure is the start of the infection since your urinary tract is not functioning right which may be causeing the uti...anyways i was just offering accurate advice...we will hope some other heavy users will chime in and post also ...and of course there isnt going to be any studies considering there is very little medical studies on the effects from k

Re: Ketamine + Gastroesophageal Reflux

We have 78 files in the ketamine file archive, and PubMed returns 364 results for "ketamine abuse" (and over 10000 for "ketamine").

What you describe sounds more like cystitis (bladder inflammation), which has been documented in heavy K users (use the search engine for more information) but is not related to the topic of this thread (gastroesophageal reflux).

i wasnt implying it had anything to do with topic, was just saying once you get to the point that the stomach problems are starting the uti are soon to follow...uti are worse in my opinion having to piss every 3 minutes and burning like fire coming out. worst feeling ever...never want to experince that

Really good advice. SWIM has had the 'K pains' 4 times now with varying degrees of intensity. The first time it simply made him feel a little uncomfortable and barely phased him at all. Second time was fucking awful, SWIM has never been in so much pain in his life. He recognised the uncomfortable feeling from before but it got worse and worse and worse to the point he was contorting in pain and screaming in agony. He arms and face started tingling and going numb, breathing was really hard and he thought he was going to pass out and die. He got his friends to take him to hospital but by the time he had eventually been seen too the pain had subsided. Blood tests showed his liver function was out and that he tested positive for CRP (C-reactive protein) which indicates inflammation in the body. The nurse told SWIM that he should just get drunk like everyone else and not do drugs. Great fucking advice, dumb bitch.

Anyways SWIM got it again but not that bad, then again recently. Was almost as bad as the second time but this time his gf ran him a nice hot bath which helped better than the codeine the hospital gave him the second time. After 2 hours in the bath he was fine.
