swim just recently purchased some kratom extract, and has never done it before. he was wondering what the best way to take it is as well as potential downsides, doses, length of effects, or any other useful info that anyone has on the subject.

The best way is to make a tea out of it, so boil it in water and strain out the leaves, add a little vodka to help the active molecules extract out. A quick google search will yield details. You could also chew the leaves in your mouth, Thai style, but swim thinks it tastes to much like shit to keep in his mouth. In fact if you check the erowid page they should have pretty good dosing guidelines.

Potential downsides... addiction is possible in fact in Thailand theres a sizeable proportion that is addicted. Oh yeah, at least for swim when he took too much he literally had the worst hangover of his entire life, and thats saying a lot considering that swims had some pretty epic hangovers. Literally it felt like his head was going to explode.

The most cost effective way is to grind it and swallow it-- either in water or in gel caps. Resin can be swallowed. With tea, a lot is lost. But the poster said 'extract', so who knows what form it is in?
