How to smoke cannabis? I hear you can buy those cigarette papers and roll it up??

So with weed, you can smoke it thru a bong, or roll it up in the cigarette papers, with the filter, and smoke it like a normal cigarette right?

Is the standard hit one rolled-up cigarette to yourself?

Also, it's my second time (first time was with a dealer to cut some time down before the stuff arrives) and I took probably 3 or 4 big puffs, after that.. I was totally stoned.. Didn't feel high, just felt fucked as. Is this what smoking weed is about? Getting stoned? Or did I take too much and went beyond getting high? Can you get trips like from DMT?
