Experiences - Did you pass the Acid test???

I was wondering who hear has failed the "Acid Test". If you don't know what this is i will explain. I was in a book store one day and me and my bud saw this book all about hippies and the 70's and drugs 'n shat. I flipped to this page that described the first time normal people got acid in europe. The people who got a hold of acid held parties where they invited people to try it. If you started tripp'nsaying something like "i know what its like to be dead" or " i think i'm guna die" or crazy stuff like that which brought down the resta the group they kicked you out. Thus failing the acid test. Neone hear had the same experiance but on other drugs besided acid?


I have to say i've failed the Acid test when i mixed mush with weed.

The Acid tests were originally held by Ken Kesey and the Merry Pranksters in San Francisco in the early 60's. Thisis where the grateful dead got their start playinggigs. They would rig the whole place withstrobe lightsandday glo. They would spike the kool aid with acid and then invite people to drink it. This is why theywere called the Merry Pranksters. When they first started acid was legal and easy to get but then they had to get some from a man named stanly owlsy. Not saying that no one has ever thrown an acid party in europe but i have never heard about it. Anyways ive never lost it on acid or any other hallucinogen but ive seen a couple adverse reactions. One of my favorite is very similar to what eminem describes in his song about mushrooms.


I had a quarter of some decent shrooms and i had eaten and half myself. The other eight i gave to two girls who split it. Not much but they had never tripped before. Well anyways they kick in and were all hanging out watching tv. Both the girls are defintely feeling the effects and one of them keeps askingme if she pee'ed her pants because they feel wet too her. I assure her that she did indeed pee her pants, even though she didnt. It was probably becausse her palms were sweaty or something. Well we were in a very small hot room and my friend had a cockatoo that he decided to let out of his cage. The bird started flying freely around the room, no big deal. Well i dont know if it was the musrooms or if this girl is indeed deathtly afraid of birds because she got up and started screaming and ran out of the room. I went out to see what happend and she was all shook up. She was crying and told me that she was afraid of birds. I couldnt get her to calm down and called her brother in another city even though it was like 4 in the morning. She was asking her brother if she was going to die because she ate mushrooms and he calmed her down after like 10 minutes. This was some weird stuff and defintely amusing. Anyways be careful with who you give drugs do you never know how someone is going to react

I have nver wigged on cid,but once i was with i guy who hid under ablanket, only to peek out once in a while to call us all b*st*rds. we had to get away. ILL never forget my first trip there was a huge full moon anI actualy saw dead skeletians in the sky in rainbow colors in feathery clouds across the sky. It was magic.

Hi ; Hope Im posting in the right spot or can even mention this.

The xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx does not have two important counters inclued which need to be added 1) Amount spent by users on illegeal drugs
2) Amount spent on perscrption drugs

My mate loves drugs and has mixed experinces (95% where good) but think the counter is a bit one sided and really needs the two other counters added.
I love showing friends the counter but we always end up asking the same question which is how may million $$ are drug users spending every second??

One time while lying under trees in the evening just before sunset the acid made my mate think that the tree above him was a giant spider and sh$# his heart was thumping like mad. I was real sceare , giant spiders over the top of you but ... my mind clicked back .... saying this is not real and I really did sort of enjoyed getting the crap sceared out of me... it was thrilling , better than any roller coaster.

SWIM has never thought he was going to die from LSD or any other drug

SWIM agrees with adventurezone, kicking someone out of a group because there having a bad trip is not fair. You need to look after each other when tripping especially if someone starts having a bad trip. There's one line in particular SWIM has used on many of his friends who are gaving a bad trip

"Its just something you ate, you'll be fine in a couple of hours" <- Dunno why but SWIM hearing this from a mate after lots of shrooms helped him stop having a bad trip. In fact it made him laugh and start having a great trip

Started reading this book a few days ago, and am about half way through it now. What a cosmic coincidence that this thread is one of the first I see when checking in after a while.

In general Kesey and the other pranksters were kind of assholes about the whole psychedelic experience. Kesey was the opposite of Leary who preached set and setting and gave people reasonable doses in controlled settings, the pranksters would feed neophytes high doses in huge parties and blare all kinds of sounds and videos everywhere. In fact it was at one of the first acid tests where Oswley had his first bad trip, and almost cut off Keseys acid for it.
