Peyote trip, is it worth it?
Swim has access to payote, his dealer just said it makes you puke for 6 hours then gives you a 3 day trip
, swim gets bored/tired after an 8 hour buzz so 3 days is a little long unless its extremely enjoyable. so swims quick questions are, is a payote trip worth pucking 6 hours for? is payote mescaline? did homer simpson go on a mescaline trip after eating those spicy peppers? ![]() thanks a bunch |

Re: payote trip, is it worth it?
Swim is certainly no expert, but he said your dealer is blowing smoke, and not the kind that comes from cannabis combustion. Swim has not had the pleasure of eating peyote, but he has eaten a san pedro 'smoothie', (San pedro blended with a small amount of distilled water) the first spoonful of which went down OK, the second he could not get down. One of his friends also tried it, puking after both the first and the second attempt to ingest a spoonful of the concoction, while another managed to get the first one down and did not attempt a second.
SWIM would advise that SWIY USTFSE and erowid's resources to find a preparation method that will make the cactus more palatable. Puking for six hours seounds extreme, and while SWIM doubts it will happen, vomitting is likely to occur, but he says he would definitely eat it and not worry about puking, if it happens fine, if not even better. As many times as he's thrown up just to get drunk as a skunk he's not worried about once more to experience a peyote trip. Peyote is not mescaline, but mescaline is the predominant psychoactive alkaloid in the peyote cactus. SWIM also seriously doubts the authenticy of a 3 day trip, although he guesses it would be possible with a dose large enough. From most accounts he's read of mescaline/trichocerous/peyote, it should last 8-12 hours, and it should be a very wonderful experience. In closing, if SWIM was able to get his hands on some peyote, he would definitely be willing to eat it, and he thinks SWIY should go for it. BTW, SWIM strongly believes in researching drugs before he experiments with them, and thinks that if SWIY needed to ask about a 3 day trip and puking for six hours, that SWIY should do the same and posting on DF is a good start. |

Re: payote trip, is it worth it?
Whoever told you that is full of shit and should be so informed. A search of the forums here will set you straight. Puke for 6 hours....20 hour trip....idiocy!
Also: From the rules: • Use descriptive Topic Subject. This will help others find what they want to read. Topics with bad Topic subjects may be deleted! - there's nothing more annoying than looking at all those stupid "A stupid question" subject lines. I mean, I'm damn lazy, but how hard is it to type "A stupid question about (insert something here)"? As a rule of thumb, most thread titles should include the full name of the drug discussed. A rule many tend to forget will cause a mass of warnings soon...Rules are here: http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/ann...t.php?f=43&a=1 Last edited by Nagognog2; 29-08-2007 at 02:22. |

Re: Peyote trip, is it worth it?
Of all the drug myths out there, I think this is probably the most mutually believed one in my area. I have yet to meet someone here who didn't believe that peyote makes you trip for days.
Check out this thread for some more info on the subject: http://www.drugs-forum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=23520 |

Re: Peyote trip, is it worth it?
Puking for 10 minutes and then tripping for 8 hours would probably be closer to normal reality than what your friend quoted you. Duration of a peyote journey though, like with most psychedelics, varies a lot based on dose.
Nothing should make you puke for 6 hours, Jesus Christ! If a drug was that nauseating, it would probably kill people through dehydration and exhaustion. When puking occurs after taking a psychedelic it generally happens briefly then stops, leaving the explorer feeling usually much better. Everyone SWIM knows who has tried either mescaline or peyote found it, on the whole, to be very much "worth it". SWIM has not tried the rare, sacred plant peyote himself yet. SWIM's best friend encountered real peyote on only one occasion though. He has recounted it to SWIM as one of his most glorious psychedelic journeys, despite briefly throwing up. Peyote is not mescaline, but peyote contains mescaline as its primary active constituent. Taking peyote is taking a difficult-to-determine dose of mescaline along with other chemicals. Re: Peyote trip, is it worth it?
Yes, definitely take the trip. You will not puke for six hours, at most you will puke about a half hour to an hour later, and be done with it then feel great. And if you take a benadryl beforehand you wont even puke. You will not for days, a mescaline trip lasts about 8 to 12 hours. Mescaline is definitely worth it, in swims opinion it is the most beautiful psychedelic. But if you can manage it try taking it with some LSD at the same time, oh my God do those drugs mix in well. The best way to describe it is that LSD is a deep psychedelic and mescaline is a broad psychedelic and when you add them together they complement each so well and give a very strong experience.

Re: Peyote trip, is it worth it?
If it is indeed peyote and not another cacti, swim would say don't eat it unless its been cultivated indoors, its a very rare and sacred plant and its nearly been wiped out in the wild.

Re: Peyote trip, is it worth it?
Budgie seconds that ^^^...better to go for San Pedro (Trichocereus Pachanoi) or Peruvian Torch (Trichocereus Peruvianus), especially if it is swiyou're first time as they are easier going on the body and less overwhelming than Peyote.
