Anal use - Rectal/Anal Administration of Mushrooms

So SWIM was reading the "wine enema" thread and it was given SWIM an idea.

Shortly SWIM will be harvesting a nice crop of cubensis and was thinking would a mushroom enema be fun? What SWIM means is this: Swim could make some mushroom tea, and use an enema bag and up she goes. Wouldnt the dosage be much lower and economical? And would the effects differ, being that the triptamines wouldnt be affected by the acids in the stomache and and the saliva.

SWIM is dead serious and will write up a trip report regarding it. Does anyone SWIYs have any knowledge or experience with this??

It seems like this would be a good way to ask for a bad trip, especially if you have bowel movements while tripping!

Swim already learnt what it felt like to piss while tripping hard and it wasnt fun!

Why don't you just eat more mushrooms if you want to trip harder?? SWIM cant see what benefit this method would have..

The point of this experiment is not to just trip harder. SWIM is wondering if the triptamines (the main active ingredient) which could be affected by stomache acids and saliva acid. SWIM is curious if the trip would be more "pure" and intense.

Im sure all of you get a good chuckle, BUT it is very very common in medicine to use anal suppositories, as the mucus membranes in the anus are the most direct way into the blood stream outside of mainlining. Not to mention you are bypassing the filtration and digestive systems.

SWIM is also interested about this. Is the digestive system needed to convert psilocybin into psilotsin? Is it still active? Will it prevent SWIM from nausea or digestive discomfort which is sometimes atributed to the mushrooms?

Schrooms taste awful and cause upset stomachs. Generally one wants to be as comfortable as possible when tripping, that's why SWIM feels comfortable doing LSD, but not mushrooms.

- SWIM would recommend SWIY to buy some capsules + a capsule filler. SWIM will get it as cheap as 35$ for 1,000 capsules + the fillingsheet.

To adress the topic, SWIM finds it really interesting, but he believes the capsules are a better alternative for those who experience discomfort due to the taste of the mushrooms.

When it comes to fact that oneself only has 1 g and really wanna go trippin', well that's all about how much SWIY is willing to do
SWIM wouldn't do it, he'd try and hook himself up with 1 gram (or maybe even just 0,5 g) of cannabis, and then smoke that instead - that'd make him trip.

Anyhow, SWIM is interested in hearing, whether someone has actually tried this, and whether it works or not. What procedure would SWIM use?

Heh... yeah, that's what I was thinking too. SWIM doesn't know much about shrooms, but imagines if the psilocybin/psilocin could be extracted, then one might be getting somewhere.

Swim was considering using gelatine capsules (also for LSA extract, but swim hears pulpy morning glory seeds have Strychnine.. Erk! Better make an ethanol based tincture) for various psychedelics, the thing is swim usually has bowel movements when high, and doesn't find the smell or process objectionable when tripping, but an upset stomach makes the trip bad for the duration the stomach is in discomfort.

Now, if it's just the highly objectionable flavour that's bad, then gelatine capsules is the way to go, but if it contains nauseating chemicals (which wouldn't be absorbed in the rectal passage, or if so, would go to be processed by the liver and not the stomach) then a small solution inserted rectally (not loads, otherwise someone-who-isint-you'd want to shit and not be exposed long enough to the psychedelics) would be most beneficial.

How long is long enough?

And would the solution get fully absorbed after that time? Or would it eventually have to come back out the same way it went in?

Swim's trying to imagine how much water would be needed for 5 grams of mushroom tea. Surely more than one syringe worth's full? Administering multiple syringe-fulls could be messy...

Would be interesting to hear from someone who's actually tried this.

Is there any toxin or chemical in psyocibin mushrooms which can cause vomiting, or is it just the offensive taste?

Yes, toilets are a very funny thing when tripping, swim passed out in a toilet twice while on mushrooms :P. (never anywhere else )

But he also had like one of the coolest OEV's: when he flushed the toilet and looked to the water, at the same time he saw water coming out of the wall straight to him. Very strange :P.
On the other side he has also likes the toilet when tripping with friends because it's a very relaxing place and he can be alone .

lol, reminds swim of one time he took MDA. It hit while swim was on the toilet which was insane, and then he finished the most amazing dump of his life! After he flushed he looked at the water and it was warping in all sorts of directions and when it settled it kept moving in contradictory directions and was glowing like radioactive waste! Was a bit weird. Then swim looked up and the bathroom stall was warping into impossible dimensions. The visuals didn't last very long, but it was a very interesting start of the peak.

Errr.... Why doesn't swiy just inform his friends that he needs to go and chill by himself for a bit and then go do so. The bathroom is a cold, lifeless, and very intense place for swim when he is tripping, or at least most of the ones he has been in while tripping before. He can handle it, but he definitely wouldnt want to stick around for a while and hang out by himself! A corner of the room or simply a few meters away from the other folks is all swim needs to clear his mind and try to sort out the sensory overload for a bit.

I don't think it is. Especially not for mushrooms, not being very practical. But it does work.

My cat found the best thing for not tasting them is powder them in a coffee grinder then mix into a tablet (70g) of melted dark chocolate and set in an ice cube mould. My cat has got up to 12g in there and could do more. No mushroom taste at all.

My cat also once tried to reduce the volume of ethanol mixed with mushroom powder by fan drying but it got mold and he had to chuck it. Beware
