N.J. DEA agent pleads guilty to misdemeanor in trash hauling case

NEW HAVEN, Conn. --A former federal drug agent from New Jersey has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor in connection with a federal probe of the trash hauling industry in Connecticut and New York.

Prosecutors say 36-year-old Louis Angioletti pleaded guilty to one count of improperly accessing a government computer.

He admitted that in September 2004, he used a federal drug database to look up the name of a person who was involved in the trash probe and thought he was being investigated. That person's name did not appear.

Angioletti has agreed to resign from the Drug Enforcement Agency and not seek re-employment. He faces up to a year in prison and a $100,000 fine when he is sentenced November 9.
