Methadone, alcohol and OD

Hey y'all..
SWIM has 'met' a few of you all before, so she appreciate all who have responded to her in the past.
Those who have read SWIM's posts know that SWIM's current drug of choice is methadone. SWIM has access to the 'waffers' I guess they are called - big round white, semi-flaky pills that are split into quarters. On the back of the pill it says methadose. Anyways, SWIM has been indulging lately, more that SWIM should. Although SWIM knows better than to use during certain times of day, SWIM doesn't seem to care anymore.
Recently, SWIM read in a local paper that a young girl was found dead in her apartment. It turns out that this girl (the decedent) was a friend of a friend. The cause of death was overdose. The deceased overdosed on a combo of methadone, xanax ,alcohol and tylenol.
Not only was SWIM extremely saddened by the death of a young girl, but SWIM was also freaked out because SWIM has a prescription for Xanax - 4 mgs per day, everyday. In addition, SWIM has .5 mg tabs as needed for breakthrough anxiety; Lexapro (40 mgs per day); Lamictal (200 mgs per day), and flexeril (10 mgs per day).
Not only does SWIM usually take the above meds, but SWIM is quite a lush. Given this combo, plus the methadone that SWIM has been indulging in lately, SWIM is concerned about methadone OD and how often it happens.
The incident mentioned above is the second time in SWIM's life that methadone was involved in an OD. The other methadone OD was with Anna Nicole Smith's son.. he was also on anti-depressants. This worries SWIM..
To make this short(er), SWIM would love any feedback about safe levels of methadone to take; safe meaning 'how much (in mgs) can SWIM take with her already prescribed, medications before she has to worry about OD? Currently, swim takes about 30 mgs of methadone per day + all of the prescribed drugs listed above, and alcohol. SWIM drinks about a half of bottle of wine per day.. some days go by that I don't drink, but usually I have some drinks.

Jeesh thats alot of meds! its hard to tell what would make swiy od, it depends on the person and tolerance ect as swim is sure swiy knows, but swiy has got a cocktail of opioid, cns depressants, and benzos there, not to mention the stuff that swim doesnt recognise. It just looks to swim like a recipe for destruction. Swim knows it would be hard but swiy might want to consider cutting back on her drug intake...

ODs like described tend to happen when people take dosges of medication beyond what they're not used to and then get drunk.SWIY is on a lot of medication by most people's standards. But if that's what her body's used to and she regularly drinks what she drinks on it, she's not gonna suddenly OD one day. A bigger risk would be trying dosages or types of drug she's not used to and then getting drunk. Or cutting back on drinking or drugs for a while and then suddenly going back to what she used to take.

Thanks for your response. WOW, SWIM just read her post and she was honestly taken aback at how many pills she takes during a day. SWIM has never really seen her drug use in black and white ... Jeesh is right. SWIM IS on a lot of drugs. SWIM's problem is that she justifies her drug use because most of her meds are legally prescribed. True, SWIM does do go "Dr. Shopping" to find docs who will give her Lortabs or Oxy's, but most of her drugs are prescribed.. Except of course the methadone.

SWIM posted this OD post because for the past week she has been taking between 30 and 35 mgs of methadone per day - plus all of that other shit. Yesterday and today, SWIM has had these involuntary twitches.. It's very weird. All of the sudden SWIM's neck will swing one way, her shoulders will just shoot up out of nowhere, her legs will just kick.. . it is really freaking her out. Soooo, tonight SWIM ate her last wafer. She hopes...
