when will we see generic adderall XR?

the patent is over in 2007 which as we all know is this year. my question is when will generics be available? SWIM has said it in many posts his dose is 20mg 2x daily but the downtime between doses is a bother some days more than other and this got SWIM interested in the XRs but screw getting name brand. he sometimes take his xanax near the end of his morning dose so it lasts during that middle time but he likes to take the least amount of xanax he can so he usually only takes it when he goes to bed.

its august when will there be some damn generics!?

lol so true but does anyone know? SWIM sees his psych sept 9th and if he can recieve generic XR he wants it but if not he might get brand name but hopes its not too much with insurance. dont think it will be more than $40 because his generic IR 20mgs and 2mg alprazolam cost about $10 each with insurance. dont know if insurance paid medication is bad for postting prices if so plz tell me and ill change it or mods change it.

Luckily SWIM is prescribed generic IRs but the generics were supposed to be out already. Barr Pharmaceuticals keep pursuing litigation trying to get the patent opened up while Shire keeps getting it extended.

Shire Pharmaceuticals later introduced an extended-release preparation of these ingredients in a variety of dosages, under the brand name "Adderall XR" (extended release), on which Shire still retains exclusive patent rights until 2009.

It will be out soon. Shire for the love of the ADD monopoly is going to be releasing a new triple beaded drug to overcome the loss of patent. Generic Adderall is nowhere near the real thing though, same with generic Dex but generic Dex is better than generic Adderall my two cents worth.
