How do u calculate the total amount of GHB made?

Hi,

If someone takes 250ml GBL and reacts it with 131g NaOH in 400ml water...how much, in grams, of NaGHB is made?

In theory you made: 131 / 40 = 3,275 mol GBL. 3,275 x 86,1 = 282 gram GBL / 1,144 = 246,5 mL GBL. So you have an excess of 3,5 mL GBL. This stays ureacted in your GHB solution. GBL reacts with NaOH, 1mol gbl reacts whit 1mol NaOH: 131 gram NaOH = 3,275 mol; 3,275 mol GBL = 246,5mL or 282 gram GBL. 282gram GBL + 131gram NaOH = 413 gram GHB.

Swim makes GHB with 250mL GBL and 125ml d-H2O and ends up with approx. 500mL GHB solution thus with every gram GHB he gets 0,32ml more volume.

If you know the density of your liquid then it is very easy te calculate your percentage.

Many thanks for the info...if possible could you post the algebra for those calculations u did. Chemistry lessons ended years ago and I am unsure of where some of the numbers dervive from!!
