Bad High
My friend recently experienced a bad high after smoking weed. He is a very casual smoker with a low tolerance, he smoked about 0.6 grams. Anyway he felt alright for about 20 minutes but soon his face became very pale, lips were slightly blue and he was shivering, and according to him he felt very very tired. This was weird cause were were outside on a sunny day when it was 85 and humid. My friend went to sleep about 45 minutes later, and woke up after 4 hours. When he wasn't high anymore, he asked my other two friends who were smoking with him why the same thing didnt happen to them, they had experienced a good high. None of us could figure it out, anybody had this happen to them?

Re: Bad High
I've seen worse, and heard of far worse, from reputable sources. It sounds like a form of anxiety attack. Some have this happen every time they smoke pot - in differing degrees.
Pot is a psychedelic, and can help surface material from the subconscious that is not pleasant. With pot - the defence mechanisms remain mostly intact. So the anxiety attack is what happens. On a full-on psychedelic, like LSD, thius could allow a full-blown psychosis to drop in for a visit. I'd advise your friend to chill on the pot for the time being. The next time might require a trip to the hospital and an injection of phenergen and/or worse. |

Re: Bad High
Ditto on Swiy's friend steering clear of the pot for a while. I agree that this sounds like a personal reaction, that is to say, not bunk weed. Some of Swim's friends have experienced similar things when smoking while really worried about something. One of swim's friends got really sick, threw up, then fell asleep for several hours. Later it turned out that the person was extremely guilty about smoking, and we think that's what caused the bad reaction in someone who normally has a very good reaction to weed. Drugs have a forceful way of making people look at their deep seated problems, and Swim always feels lucky when she isn't forced to work through some inner issue during a drug experience. Swiy's friend may look at this as a chance to figure out if something is bothering him and resolve it. Best wishes, let us know if anything is figured out for sure.

Re: Bad High
The paleness, blue lips and shaking would suggest that SWIY suffered from a "whitey", an unpleasant experience often brought on by low blood sugar levels and overabundant smoke inhalation, a common sign of inexperience and lack of physical tolerance. It's the same feeling a child would feel if daddy feeds them a packet of cigarettes in order to wane them off smoking for life.

Re: Bad High
Yea this is not an uncommon occurence. Add in people who already have hypoglycemia, swim used to. This makes smoking pot more of a chore because of added physical symptoms that appear almost every time, you get more twitchy and uncomfortable, etc.

Re: Bad High
Another cause may be it was laced with something or the weed was moldy though these things are slightly unlikely. Next time SWIY smokes try a lower dose maybe .3 grams?
