Ritalin solution absorbed through skin?

a while back swim dissolved 30x20mg in water crushed, he shook it vigorously and left it to settle, he then extrcted the liquid to another container and disposed of the solids left over, after attempts to evaporate off the liquid the resulting methylphenidate was a sticky film on the watch glass, the remaining methylphenidate solution kept in the fridge was to be disposed of when he poured it all over his hands and rubbed it into his skin vigourously, he then wash his hands with soap and water, between 10 and 30 minutes later a pronounced effect was felt, his skin all over his body went pale, he was shaking and sweating profusely. his pupils were constricted at first then dilated over the period of an hour. swim was wondering whether he had absorbed a substantial amount of methylphenidate through his skin from rubbing the solution into it?

any information regarding this would be helpful.

primarily is it infact possible to absorb a methylphenidate/water solution through the skin?

That's strange. I think that big doses can't be administered through skin, but I have no proof of it. The first things that pop on my head are LSD through Albert Hoffmans fingers when he first accidentally discovered it or nicotine from nicotine patch, both of which are active at low dosages.

Methylphenidate can be absorbed through the skin, in fact, a relatively new medication for ADHD utilizes this with a skin patch. Do a google search for "Daytrana" if you want to know more.
