Is heroin-hcl smokable?

Is heroin-hcl smokable? I know cocaine must be converted to freebase for smoking, how is it with heroin?

swim tried to do this with a 10mg diamorphine ampoule and it doesnt run it just burns into a black blob,but swim did still get proper wasted from just a lungful,i believe if its mixed with caffeine that would help it to run,the HCL is intended for IV use and the base for smoking.

SWIM has smoked heroin hcl (black tar) and it works. SWIM started out smoking and snorting it but like most went to IV after a short period of time. SWIM remembers it ran down the foil and was easy to smoke, but im assuming SWIY has powder and i have never even seen powder in real life.

Yes you can smoke heroin it just depends on the type. SWIM has smoked hcl before it is wasteful but possible. If it came in an ampule then it was presumably mixed with some liquid which surely prevents it from being smoked. Be warned....black tar tastes very bad. It is very hard to stomach and will leave a nasty taste in your mouth. SWIM smoked some china white and it wasn't anything like the black tar. Still wasteful but not as bad.

I didnt think black tar was the hydrochloride form,only the colombian white powder is the HCL form,and the diamorphine ampoules are a freeze dried powder that you have to add water to use,i think the base form is the one intended for smoking.

SWIM got hold of some heroin hcl which is very hard to come by and was very expensive, it was great for injecting but when smoked SWIM found it didn't run that well and was harder on the lungs, it was an off white powder.

Yeah... HCL is powder and no, you can't smoke it. Well, you can, but it probably wouldn't burn right or even vaporize. SWIM has poured china white ontop of a joint before and smoked it, but it mostly made the smoke taste strange.

swim used to get "hitting heroin" which was dark colour but not black. This did not run on foil and was hard to smoke.
In prisons in the uk when people want to smoke any heroin they use a small square piece of foil and a tiny dot of butter on it. the heroin then floats on the butter and is vaporised in the butter. this stops it burning on the foil. This was normaly done to make the heroin go further.
We used to use this method when we could only get the dark solid heroin. Maybe this heroin was the same as your black tar? I only ever seen this heroin come from liverpool.

The reason that balck tar tastes fucking horrible when smoked is typically because of the vinegar cut. Fucking Christ, its disgusting. The less vinegar there is in it, the easier it will be to smoke.

yeh swim says it just makes it burn slower, but u get high alot slower 2, and smoke butter!

The "vinegar" taste/smell is not actually "cut" per se, it comes from the chemical acetic anhydride, which is used in the process of refining raw opium into heroin. I suppose it could be considered "cut", because in SWIM's experience the stronger the vinegar smell the less pure the product is, however I don't believe it comes from what would normally be considered a "cut"; AFAIK it's not added to the product to purposefully dilute it.
