Codeine Phosphate, Help required :-)

Hey everyone.

SWIM recently told me that he would like to venture into the Opiate world, so, he ventured forth to his parents medicinal cabinet, the only thing he could find was a pack of pills, which said "Codeine Phosphate, 30mg".

SWIM was wondering, roughly how many pills should he take, he has no opiate tolerance and is looking for a decent experience.

SWIM was also wondering, would it be possible to crush up the pills, and snort them, as this is something SWIM would like to try .

SWIM says thank you to everyone!

Thank SWIY for the help

Also, would snorting create any negative effects?

Just eat them if you have a "ZERO tolerance" two of them might even be enough IMO.

SWIM is not 100% as there isnt a box, only the packet, however he searched the exact text on google and apparently they only contain Codeine and Phosphate.

Thanks everyone for the help though !

Re: Codeine Phosphate, Help required :-)

well snorting would hurt, snorting crushed up pills isnt a good idea anyway, and codeine is metabolized in the liver through first pass metabolism swim thinks so its more effective orally, may not even be very effective at all if its snorted, but swim doesnt know!

Re: Codeine Phosphate, Help required :-)

I've seen Codeine Phosphate tablets referred to as "Codeinum Phosphoricum", perhaps that's the name that you've seen? If so, my understanding is that they are just codeine phosphate.

The "codeinum phosphoricum" name looks Latin, but doesn't seem to make any sense to me: "codeinum" looks like the accusative singular form of a second declension noun, and "phosphoricum" looks like the genitive plural for a third declension, which together is senseless. Oh well, probably says more about my Latin ability than anything else.

Codeinum:2nd declension noun,neutral form,nominative.
Phosphoricus/phosphorica/phosphoricum:as an adjective referred to the noun Codeinum it has to make agree with the noun so another neutral nominative.
That's it.
You just didn't take into consideration the 2nd declension neutral form which nominative ends in -um instead of -us.
Now it DOES make sense doesn't it?

Thanks, that does make sense now. As you said, I'd not thought about the 2nd declension neuter form.

Re: Codeine Phosphate, Help required :-)

I was going to replace my 5/500 vicodin with tramadol 50, are they at all comparable? Or would Cod Phos 30 or 50 be a better replacement?

Re: Codeine Phosphate, Help required :-)

SWIM would say tramadol is more effective for pain relief than codeine, but codeine is a bit more enjoyable as a high. This could be offset by the fact that tramadol lasts significantly longer, though. Tramadol also takes longer to come up on than codeine in SWIM's experience, so if you need pain relief quick, codeine is better.

No necessarily. It's considered a C II only in its pure form (which you hardly ever get to put your hands on) ..whilst..when combined with paracetamol and possibly Caffeine it's considered a C III (just like Hydro) just make some googling..it's easy

Actually as for Hydro...the rule goes like this..roducts which contain less than 15 mg hydrocodone per dosage unit are Schedule III in the United States.
