Codeine Phosphate, Help required :-)

Hey everyone.

SWIM recently told me that he would like to venture into the Opiate world, so, he ventured forth to his parents medicinal cabinet, the only thing he could find was a pack of pills, which said "Codeine Phosphate, 30mg".

SWIM was wondering, roughly how many pills should he take, he has no opiate tolerance and is looking for a decent experience.

SWIM was also wondering, would it be possible to crush up the pills, and snort them, as this is something SWIM would like to try .

With no opiate tolerance try maybe 3 pills the first time, provided they just have codeine in them, best start of low! swim wouldn't snort them it wpuld hurt like a mother fucker.

Just eat them if you have a "ZERO tolerance" two of them might even be enough IMO.

Oh..by the way..don't they contain any paracetamol?Just plain Codeine?

well snorting would hurt, snorting crushed up pills isnt a good idea anyway, and codeine is metabolized in the liver through first pass metabolism swim thinks so its more effective orally, may not even be very effective at all if its snorted, but swim doesnt know!

SWIM is not 100% as there isnt a box, only the packet, however he searched the exact text on google and apparently they only contain Codeine and Phosphate.

well if they are 30mg pills they wont be nearly as big as 500mg pills with paracetamol/acetaminophen in them

lol..Codeine Phosphate is a single salt..the cation and the anion..ya know..like sayin Sodium Chloride..(the kitchen kinda salt)

SWIM has never felt anything on such low doses, even with no tolerance. SWIM would recommend 4 of them, which should get you something, and be safe even if there is 500mg of acetaminophen/paracetamol in them.

Oh, SWIY may consider taking just 1 on the first try to make sure he/she isn't allergic to codeine, as some people are. If SWIY starts itching like crazy, best to avoid higher doses.

Damn why can't ppl edit their posts?I'll never know..anywayz..I was just telling you that Codeine is found as a salt (Phosphate usually like in this case) so that it can be metabolised by the liver

I'd say ESPECIALLY If there are 500mg's per each pill but this doesn't seem to be the case..oh BTW..I still haven't figured....what's the brand name of this med??

If you mean the amount of codeine, all it says is "Codeine Phosphate, 30MG" the pills are relitavly small, so as stated by others before, SWIM can only assume they dont contain anything else .

When he gets the chance to, SWIM is gonna drop 1, if he feels like there isnt any allergy related effects he is going to drop another 2, and possibly one more later on if he feels like it.

SWIM would like to thank everyone here for the help it has helped a lot, and i feel he definitly made the right decision by checking up on here before diving straight into it, cheers everyone!

Just keep in mind that codeine doesn't last long, so taking 2 more an hour later, then 1 more an hour after that will probably not get the full effects of taking 4 at the same time (and 4 at the same time is still a pretty mild dose.)

Thanks, i didn't know that , what would you reccomend as a good dose to try (For SWIM) (after the initial 30mg to see for any allergy related responses)

Also, how fast should SWIM wait for an allergic response?

It sure won't..but at least it will make it last way longer
It's a matter of choices..some might like it longer but milder..others would just rahter stick with a massive initial rush due to the quick absorption of the oral solution(when it comes in that form) which makes it kick in harder and wear off faster

2 hours should be enough time for any side effects to be clearly noticeable. After that SWIY can take 3 for a minor/threshold experience, but 4 would probably be a better bet. Some people are more sensitive to codeine than others; SWIM's first dose was 120mg and he barely felt anything other than a mild mood lift.

The way SWIM sees it; codeine is something that can be greatly enjoyed, but it's a bad idea to take it too often. So when you do take it, make sure you can feel it But again, 120mg is not a bad first dose for someone who wants to start low (which is never a bad idea.)

I've seen Codeine Phosphate tablets referred to as "Codeinum Phosphoricum", perhaps that's the name that you've seen? If so, my understanding is that they are just codeine phosphate.

The "codeinum phosphoricum" name looks Latin, but doesn't seem to make any sense to me: "codeinum" looks like the accusative singular form of a second declension noun, and "phosphoricum" looks like the genitive plural for a third declension, which together is senseless. Oh well, probably says more about my Latin ability than anything else.
