With tolerance comes build up in toxicity limit?

Mr. Angry was wondering...

As one builds up a tolerance for a substance do they also need more to die from said substance? It seems like an obvious question...but he was wondering. If someone without a tolerance took the same amount as someone with a moderately high tolerance, would they overdose? So, in theory, could someone just keep building up a tolerance and never overdose but have a rediculously high amount in their system?
(not taking into account the destructions that happen to one's body with substance abuse.)

Re: With tolerance comes build up in toxicity limit?

basically yes, the more swiyou takes the more swiyou can take. but tolerance also drops with lack of use, this has been the cause for many an overdoses.

example: someone who takes heroin three times a day everyday for a year gets cut off for a reasonable period, finally scores some h, takes what their normal dose would have been before getting cut off and overdoses. (swim doesnt know how long it takes for tolerance to drop this drastically, but knows of people who have died like this)
