Nitrous Tolerance Rebound Time?
SWIM recently went on a bit of a Nitrous binge because of how easy it was to get and because he really enjoyed the "trip" even though it last quite short. Because of how short the duration of the trip was, he would do anywhere from 60-120+ 8g canisters in a day, and after two weeks he could just take balloons without feeling much of an effect at all. So I am wondering how long it takes for the average person to lose tolerance to Nitrous. I know the details are different for everyone, but if anyone had a general idea it would be appreciated.

Re: Nitrous Tolerance Rebound Time?
Make sure to suppliment vitamin B12 into your diet more, this will aid the process.
It would be expected that after a couple of weeks with the added vitamins your tolerance would start to lower, try having a month off, it'l help you a lot especially if you were doing 100 whippets per day. |

Yeah, SWIM's diet has had plenty of B12. If he doesn't get some kind of food/drink with a high percentage of it everyday he'll just take a multivitamin. Plus it is a vitamin found in meat and SWIM enjoys a good steak.
Just an update for those interested in this issue. SWIM took a break from whippits for a week and tried them again today. He definitely felt them much stronger than at the tail end of his binge but nothing like the sound-distorting dissociation experienced when he first tried it. So tolerance is definitely an issue of weeks, maybe even months, not only days. Last edited by Paracelsus; 30-08-2007 at 01:34. Reason: merged |

Re: Nitrous Tolerance Rebound Time?
Just for anyone interested in the subject, B12 supplementation may prevent B12 deficiency and its nervous-system-fucking consequences, but it does not have anything to do with tolerance. Tolerance to nitrous oxide hasn't been documented anyways.

Re: Nitrous Tolerance Rebound Time?
SWIM is experiencing the same problem, though he never was doing 60 cartridges a day. That's a bit excessive to say the least. Nitrous does not produce the euphoria and dissociation it once did, but instead only results in a mild and not very interesting buzz/sedation for a minute or so. SWIM has limited his use and now mainly uses it to potentiate other drugs as it doesn't do much of anything on its own anymore. As with the OP, would like to hear from people regarding how long it takes the tolerance to rebound. In SWIM's experience, even abstaining for a month did not significantly reduce the tolerance.

Re: Nitrous Tolerance Rebound Time?
The tolerance does seem to go back down. GForce's pet rat abstained for some time (will have to wait for him to see this to get exact number) and found nitrous to be as effective as it was initially once trying it again. I'll leave it to him to explain further.
As for my Panda, he hasn't consumed enough nitrous to experience tolerance of any kind (besides extremely short term feelings of such) so he can't really comment on this thread. |
