Injecting - Injecting THC

So if one were to extract the THC from weed or hash, could it be injected? Either IV or IM. Has anyone ever heard of such a thing? Would it be possible? Thoughts please.

THC is not soluble in water or saline solutions. It would be like injecting peanut-butter. And when peanut-butter gets to your heart, Skippy, a clogged cardiac artery would be the result. Can you say "heart attack?" Sure you can!

what about if it was dissolved in eythl alcohol dilluted then injected? steve o had a nurse give him an iv bag with 5 shots of vodka and he was still doing his thing.

That's a big `IF` - how would you extract it?

Possible, hell yeah. Anything's possible... but seeing as the hoards of drug-loving chemists with the love and giggles power of potheads everywhere haven't yet figured out how to inject THC - it's prolly a bit of effort. Plus needles are nasty.

As you add water, the THC will start to come out of solution*. And injecting pure ethyl alcohol is extremely painful. Not a good idea. Might be possible to put it in polyethylene glycol - but we're talking dead rats to find if that would work. I'd suggest staying with the common routes of ingestion: Inhaled as vapor, eaten (or drunk) dissolved in oils or butter, or same only rectal.

* which is why to make hashoil from grass, you'd want to start with a non-polar solvent.

I have to disagree with the answer given. When swib was a teen , his older brother would have this powder called " T " tetra hydra cannabinol ( thc ) this was a drug that I saw him and his friends do quite often , usually they would do lines of it up the nose, but I know that it was banged on occasion. I didn't do any thing like that at that time in my life , so I can't comment on it from a personal experience , just I know what I saw and heard them tell me . Anybody out there remember this drug. Surely there are some who will speak up and straighten this out .

swim promises that if he ever gets a terminal illness he will try all the stuff normal people would never do such as injecting thc, loperamide(immodium) and dxm. swim will also probably take requests of stuff to inject.lol

swim hates to say it but swim is 99.9% sure it wasnt thc if it was intravenously injected.

somebody told me marinol could be done.

and re the peanut butter/oil issue, just a couple of drops of hash oil on a joint get SWIM very high so how much oil actually is needed to hurt in an IV? for instance, air bubbles are bad, but a phlebotemist told me that SWIM actually needs 20 cc of air to kill him.

Also could alcohol tinctures be evaporated? and then a small portion of the residue could be liquified in some beer/weak alcohol?

Sounds like it would either clog the blood vessel or get stuck in the heart and cause a heart attack!

Cakes, that's an interesting idea. Swim once wanted to see if thc could be turned into a powder and snorted but tons of research later, couldn't find any way to do this. Everything read said THC was kind of in it's own class, so to speak, it was just THC. making snort able is might be posable it easy just cut it with flour to a cakey fluffy powder-ish kinda of a thing swim uses this same methed to nutmeg oil easier to pack in to capsules its dry enof to to snort ...whether or not i would be absorbed is a diffenrt story thogh

were injecting was probably "Tac",, an acronym for Heroin.. It would be almost
impossible to Inject THC in any form..

For all practical purposes, pure recreational THC does not exist. You can't buy it, you can't inject it, you can't snort it, but perhaps it could vaporized in miniscule amounts. This is one drug that has not made it from the pharmaceutical companies to the underground labs to the street. It is still: under the researcher's lock and key, and, so far, there have been very few security leaks. That doesn't mean no one has heard of it. On the contrary, many "knowledgeable" drug users swear they have bought guaranteed, genuine THC at one time or another, but then they probably also believe in Tinker Bell.

Real THC is a clear resin or sometimes a translucent, buff-colored goo. It has also been produced as a soluble white powder to be mixed with water. However, it is unlikely that you have ever seen THC, unless you've been in the deep freeze all winter along with the ice cream. “T” or THC. After the initial media down on PCP, it was sold largely in the homosexual community as THC to avoid the unfavorable possibility that it might be demon dust. Everybody knew what it was in their hearts, but went ahead anyway. The name is dated now because, as almost everybody knows, THC can only be suspended in an oil-based medium.

There was a BBC special on medical marijuana where a patient was injected with both pure thc and thc plus cannabinoids. she said the pure thc was awful, but with the other cannabinoids in the mix as well, it was great. no idea how they extracted it though. If anyone is still interested, I can find the link to it.

swim has heard of people scratching themselves with pins with pure THC on the end of them, was told worked, but in actuality swim fucking doubtful. How is something insoluble meant to traverse the blood stream? swim supposes THC must do that going from lungs to brain, but imagines this is because has been atomized(molecularized?) when combusted/evaporated; if it stayed in blood stream indefinitely then would clump together again. Lucky brain eats it before that can happen.
So, if someone thought of a way to inject a constant molecular stream of THC into veins, then would be good? Maybe really small (thin) needle?

SWIM saw this, it came about the same time as the UK government started banging on about 'skunk', which is said to have much higher THC content than 'normal' weed (whatever the hell that may be). The subject was apparently injected with a high content THC solution and then basically had a panic attack.
Personally SWIM believes this was just propaganda trying to show that this 'skunk' will 'blow kids minds', therefore keeping any unknowledgable public in the governments hands.

EDIT: Also, said subject had only used cannabis on a couple of occasions before, in Amsterdam, which was also documented.
