Has SWIY been arrested or to jail for drugs?

SWIM was just lazing away and realised, he has frequented this forum for over a year, has partaken in buying, using, and making illegal drugs for even longer, yet SWIM (touch wood) has not been arrested nor had a jail visit.

Just out of interest HOW many SWIMs on here have been arrested or gone to jail for things related solely for a drug offence?

SWIM would suggest that any subsiquent posts leave unique or details that might identify a user to a minimum.

Swim has been to jail a number of times for drug related issues. Fortunately swm has neve been charged or convicted of a drug felony.

Never has Swim ever been arrested. For things drug-related or not. It would be nice if maybe people could tell us what exactly, as in what circumstances, got them locked up, as it would be illuminating for us others as to what to avoid. You know, so we can realize what behaviors are suspicious.

Most of the time swim simply was stupid and either got narced off, or simply did something that a little common sense would prevent one from doing (swim was a lot younger). The last time however, (and I am not going to use swim now because I was convicted and all of this is a matter of public record so there is absolutely no incriminating to be done whatever) I was pulled over for erratic driving, just after having injected about .6 of a gram of meth. I had been fighting with this dumb tweaker bitch who was riding home from my connection's house with me (My connection is also now in prison, but not because of this incident). The bich had ripped me and my connect off and I was pissed. In any case it was cold and I made the mistake of putting my hands in my coat pockets. I almost had it handled and was on my merry way when the sherrif's deputy asked me why I kept putting my hands in my pocket. I replied (honestly) that I was cold. It was after all Decemebr 7th of 2006 in Western Washington state. That prompted him to ask what was in my pockets and because I had a bag of weed in there I knew the gig was up. I fessed up on the weed and he made me take my coat off. When I did my arms were riddled with track marks.....The rest is as they say.....History.....I am at this very moment on my way to court for a review hearing about this very same case.

SWIM was not technically "arrested", but was detained by his Campus Police in regards to drugs, and eventually suspended from the university for three semesters. SWIM was a distributor of various substances at his respected college, and was quite successful at doing so, until a tip to the campus police by a jealous jackass prompted them to raid my room. SWIM was found to be in possession of 107 hits of LSD, 1/2 OZ of cocaine, 1LB of marijuana, 84 doses of 2C-E, 12 MDMA tablets, 9 grams of MDMA powder, and around 100 2mg Alprazolam tablets. SWIM feels that he is very lucky that it was only the campus police who discovered the contraband, as due to the fact that they handled the evidence, SWIM could not have been tried in a real courtroom. SWIM is a very, very lucky person.

Almost....back when swim was younger (and didn't know his rights that well, or maybe they can search you during school), he would have been arrested, but the cop was nice enough to believe swim that what he was holding was salvia (and it was)....most cops around here would just confiscate it, take it to the labs, and arrest ya anyways.

No jail for anything. No visits to the police station either. No suspensions or even detentions either in swim's school years. lol, swim was a little angel, or at least he put on the appearance, which is probably more important. Shit, I don't even think swim was ever grounded in his life. Still, no time to get sloppy. Swim would much rather avoid jail.

Swim did not add how lucky swim has been. Two days before swim was arrested, (and when swim was arrested the charge was DUI, which makes it a mis-d and not a felony as possesion of meth would have been) swim was carrying around a quarter ounce of pure "ice" methamphetamine, busted up for sale in swim's pocket. Swim has always managed to avoid serious arrests. One time years ago swim had several quarters (1/4 grams) ready for sale and had this odd but uncanny notion that swim should immidiately bury his dope. Not three minutes later the city police picked swim up for questioning on another matter Swim's instincts have always been scary good, but swim feels he has used up his "cop karma" and thinks swim will just retire as an addict and enjoy a retirement of being clean and sober and free of the 300# gorilla swim's been carrying on his back all these years.

Way back when my azalea was little more than a clipping, she (along with a bunch of other goofballs) was detained- but not arrested- by the campus police for underage drinking at an official orientation weekend kegger. (Yes). She was rather miffed about it, too, being a totally grown-up 18-year-old who had driven herself a thousand miles away from everyone with a large share of similar DNA in order to start her Junior year at this school. Which is exactly what she told the college president at the meeting regarding possible expulsion the following Monday.

It would have served her well to save up that worldliness for a couple of occasions the following year when the Omniscience of Adolescence truly would have come in handy. Part of growing up, other than having your leaves pulled off and being peed on by dogs, is finding out how little you really do know.

It took my little azalea two arrests to figure out that cops can say anything they can come up with in order to get you to do what they want. Fortunately neither wound up involving jail- perhaps because possession of a speck of hash and a single pipe
respectively, are often considered violations, not crimed

got arrested while back for doing a bottle run at ralphs out the fire exit because swim was in a treatment facility and had run away. when swim went back, the staff pretended to be cool that swim was drunk and were talking to me about how they had stolen bottles before and swim was DRUNK and they coaxed it out of him. bam couple weeks in juvie and 6mos probation. swim fucked up again by growing a weed plant in the back yard of the house at the treatment facility. he got sent to a boot camp in utah for 6 mos.

Budgie has never been arrested for anything like that, but he's had cautions and he's also been made to drop a bag of weed he'd just brought down a drain in the middle of the street by a couple of coppers!

You could've come back and got it - all you have to do is put your hands through the bars and pull up, and off goes the cover (they're usually a little heavy though - bring a friend if you don't consider yourself so strong). Those inlets are designed so that people can go down inside of them.

As for SWIM, he's never been arrested, questioned, searched or pulled over. He used to do some really sketchy things but has since stopped; it wasn't worth the "300# Gorilla" hanging on his back as methMADMAN put it.

That kind of stuff just isn't worth it. Fuck the money. I choose my freedom.

SWiM was in jail for 6 months recently. Drug related, but the jail sentence was mostly because of other things. It was very boring in there he says, but he did become an outstanding yatzy player. LOL

Labmonkey has had some close calls (nothing quite like standing around talking to police while twisted on acid) and once was busted but since he was living on campus they didn't bother wasting their time with him (this was a "hippie school") and sent him to the school councilor who couldn't have cared less that monkey was smoking pot.
Also I, not monkey in this case but he was there, got in some trouble for throwing a party, minor in possession/minor in consumption and had to do some meetings. But no, never actually arrested or put in a cage.

Very interesting responses. From my perspective I rarely see anyone do any time for mere possession, felony or misdemeanor. There are certain circumstances where there are aggravating factors, but I guess that wouldnt be considered just possession.

I would say that unless you have a very long criminal history you're not going to do any time. Even drug dealers will get probation and time served for their first couple of convictions. Like Hippie was saying in a round about way, you dont really start doing any real time until you start doing things that get you prosecuted in Federal Court. A real pain in the ass in my neck of the woods was just convicted of conspiracy to deliver 1000 lbs of marijuana and 5 kilograms of cocaine in Federal Court. It caries a mandatory minimum of 10 years, but with the safety valve he might do 1/3rd.

You know all of those guys who are in prison for possession? If you look at them a little closer you will find that they are career criminals who have dozens of dangerous felonies under their belts.

As I suspect Hippy will agree, its takes quite a bit for you to get prosecuted in Federal Court. Being conviced under RICO is hard to do. If you are unfamiliar with the RICO law, go to wikipedia and copy and paste this: Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act
