Oral use - Kill effects of xanax (Alprazolam)

Swim took some xanax a bit ago, enough to get high. However, swim is seeing his girlfriend later tonight and swim knows he will still feel the effects later, and last time she was very upset about it. Is there any way to enjoy the high, and then take somethign to diminish the effects even a little bit?

while swim doesnt very much recommend these ideas you could
1. take an ephedra
2. drink a few cups of coffee and play it off as your a bit tired

no real way to alleviate symptoms. generally it is frowned upon to mix uppers and downers but these is dealing with weaker stuff. most upper and downer mixtures kill because after the stimulation wears off, most people have taken too much of a downer and thus go into respiratory depression. however since your downer is limited and controlled swim doesnt believe it should pose a problem but again i would recommend just saying your tired.

Do some planning, or have a schedule, or tell the `girl` whats-what and let her know who is in charge of YOU. (That's YOU, not her junior.)

SWIH does not know why or how, but his doc also approved this: heavy short time nicotine usage (like smoking a pure tabak bong) can knoch out effect of benzodiazepines. it's worth a try, SWIH does this pretty often with surprising visitors and/or invitations on evenings when he's pumped full of valium, he smokes 1-2 tabak bongs and immidiately the valium effects are gone for ~3 hours.

maybe its placebo or whatever, but it helps SWIIH.

on the other question: orange juice contains fairly high amounts of vitamine C which is a LSD killer. So SWIH wouldnt drink orange juice excess while under LSD effects.

Cigarette smokers apparently clear benzodiazepines quicker than non-smokers, I have no idea whether this is because of liver enzyme induction, but it is certainly documented for Alprazolam and Estazolam.

Many psychiatric patients smoke, and are believed to be heavier smokers than those without psychiatric disorders. Cigarette smoking is one of the environmental factors that contributes to interindividual variations in response to an administered drug. Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) present in cigarette smoke induce hepatic aryl hydrocarbon hydroxylases, thereby increasing metabolic clearance of drugs that are substrates for these enzymes. PAHs have been shown to induce 3 hepatic cytochrome P450 (CYP) isozymes, primarily CYP1A1, 1A2 and 2E1. Drug therapy can also be affected pharmacodynamically by nicotine. The most common effect of smoking on drug disposition in humans is an increase in biotransformation rate, consistent with induction of drug-metabolising enzymes. Induction of hepatic enzymes has been shown to increase the metabolism and to decrease the plasma concentrations of imipramine, clomipramine, fluvoxamine and trazodone. The effect of smoking on the plasma concentrations of amitriptyline and nortriptyline is variable. Amfebutamone (bupropion) does not appear to be affected by cigarette smoking. Smoking is associated with increased clearance of tiotixene, fluphenazine, haloperidol and olanzapine. Plasma concentrations of chlorpromazine and clozapine are reduced by cigarette smoking. Clinically, reduced drowsiness in smokers receiving chlorpromazine, and benzodiazepines, compared with non-smokers has been reported. Increased clearance of the benzodiazepines alprazolam, lorazepam, oxazepam, diazepam and demethyl-diazepam is found in cigarette smokers, whereas chlordiazepoxide does not appear to be affected by smoking. Carbamazepine appears to be minimally affected by cigarette smoke, perhaps because hepatic enzymes are already stimulated by its own autoinductive properties. Cigarette smoking can affect the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic properties of many psychotropic drugs. Clinicians should consider smoking as an important factor in the disposition of these drugs.

milk, cheese, yogurt, cigarettes.....but cigarettes work in a strange way, for a while there will be a synzergistic buzz...but on the whole it kills the effect.

the other only thing you can try is that benzo antagonist, SWIH forgot the name, but it's VERY hard to get, kills the effects reliably and fast, but as most benzos have a longer half-life, you'll have rebound effects.

^^^ Flumazenil is a tricky one. It's only indicated (where SWIJ is) for the treatment of iatrogenic benzo od (ie: oversedation during a medical procedure).

If Flumazenil is given to chronic benzo users then the risk of inducing withdrawal seizures (which are often highly resistant to treatment) is significant.

this is absolutely right and congruent with everything doctors told me. however, SWIH is just showing possibilities, everyone handling with benzos or drugs in general should be responsible enough to know what to except with each different drug they do and what and how the antagonists work.

this is at least what SWIH does - gather information about the drug he's interested in, then thinking over "do it or don't do it" and then do it if the decision is positive. this took him 15 minutes for bud and 3 years for LSD, as an example

If there was really a drug that could reliably reverse the effects of GABA-ergic compounds without significant side effects, I would think it would be massively popular as a way to sober up after drinking (and probably prevent quite a few drunken driving fatalities). Unless it just reversed GABA-A and not GABA-B, but that seems unlikely.

There is something that worked for Dreamer. It's probably something that most people won't even think of doing. Trust him, the first 1-2 miles you'll feel like you're trapped in a nightmare, but then things start to settle in place. And believe it or not, after about 50-70 mins of sustained cardio, you'll actually feel 100% 'yourself'. You'll feel good. You don't even have to run fast... you can take it easy and run nice and slow... boost that metabolism, raise the heartrate, start sweating... it works. Well, it works for Dreamer at least... can't speak for anyone else.
