Re: AD's and THC

What dose are you taking? SWIM just started and I'm on 30 mg, so SWIM'll let you know how it goes.

Re: AD's and THC

While my pet was on paroxetine (paxil, seroxat) the MJ high was totally unaffected, in fact he believes it was the perfect drug to do to help with the therapy.

Re: Antidepressants (SSRI's)'s Rasing Tolerance to Cannabis?

SSRIs fundementaly change the cannabis experience, in the opinion of my friend Henry Hawknose. He said that he didn't know the difference at first, because when he started smoking cannabis he was already on SSRIs, but, now he has self-discontinued them, he can see real differences. On SSRIs there is far more of a bodily experience, he related feeling as if he was being pushed from side to side by waves - he felt a sort of external pressure when he was on SSRIs, and he didn't get the munchies to any great extent. After coming off SSRIs he gets the munchies much more, and doesn't feel that rocking experience, however he does feel a spur of creativity and interesting imagery that he didn't get whilst on SSRIs

Re: Antidepressants (SSRI's)'s Rasing Tolerance to Cannabis?

SWIM has been off of Prozac for about 2 months and has been smoking cannabis for a while. While on the prozac his buzz had changed slightly, but in a somewhat positive way. It helped a lot with his anxiety, but made him like a zombie, similiar to his other medications.

Can't say that citalopram is rising the tolerance to weed for SWIM. It works just the same way like it always do. SWIM has been taken citalopram about 1,5 months now.

Re: Antidepressants (SSRI's)'s Rasing Tolerance to Cannabis?

swim just got on fluoxetine, and smokes cannabis.

Swim read from erowid that fluoxetine potentiates the mj high. Swim can stay high for about 4 hours or more too (with good mj).

SWIM doesn't know if this helps but...

SWIM is on Paroxetine (Generic for Paxil)
dose: 20mg

and SWIM noticed that smoking was a more pleasurable experience after taking the Paxil. SWIM use to get panic attacks and start to get really dizzy when not on Paxil. SWIM now loves to smoke and gets more of a body high without anxiety and this is exactly what SWIM loves.
hope it helped!

Re: Antidepressants (SSRI's)'s Rasing Tolerance to Cannabis?

Swim has been on 20mg of Citalopram for about 1,5 months now and swim also finds that she doesn't get as stoned as she used to before she started on the Citalopram. Swim read up on the interactions between them both and there didn't seem to be very many.

Re: Antidepressants (SSRI's)'s Rasing Tolerance to Cannabis?

As I said I think that the term "raises tolerance" is probably inaccurate. What seems to happen is that the experience is changed, rather than objectively lessened. Perhaps who ever it was that wasn't you has experienced different effects as well? Perhaps a more physical aspect to the experience, the feeling of being pushed and rolled by the drug more than they used to?

at first SWIM thought SWIM was not getting as high, but SWIM realized that SWIM WAS getting high, just without the anxiety and SWIM had associated getting really zonked with the paranoia.
