SWIM is wondering:
"i was wondering if salvia could be smoked in a normal tobacco pipe as I own one, but it is made out of wood and i have heard that it is best to use a butane torch or similar to light it and if so would my pipe be up to it? or would i be better off purchasing a proper metal pipe from a shop. I have purchased a joint of salvia and will be trying it soon but i have heard it isn't good in a joint either..." Can anyone please point SWIM in the right direction please? |

Re: What pipe for salvia?
there's plenty on the forum about how to smoke salvia. Swim has never used a pipe, be it metal or wood, but doesnt see why it wouldnt work, though a bong probably would be better, because you can draw the smoke easier and faster and can cool it. a joint is a terrible waste allright swim would never smoke salvia via joint! just read the directions on the forum and you'll get a good idea of what you want to do.

Re: What pipe for salvia?
Yes Mintboi is right, use the search engine, there is plenty of info.
But just to answer swiy's question just in case, a tobacco pipe is fine if swiy can hold in all the smoke just fine for at least 20 seconds (salvia smoke needs to be inhaled hot and fast, and it usually hurts, especially holding it in long). Sal-A |

Re: What pipe for salvia?
a joint will give you some of the effects though, swim has smoked out of a joint. he had 10x, and got the giggles for 10 minutes. he only had two tokes.

Re: What pipe for salvia?
SWIM would have to use quite a bit of 10X for a decent joint, swim would use leaves, they're cheaper.
and yeah swiy is right, a joint can be useful if meaning to relax or something, or to calm down...for leaves that is, because unless SWIY is super sensitive to salvia (swim's friend gets the floating feeling from a joint of leaves, and then has CEVs), swim finds it calming and semi relaxing depending on the feeling swim gets (if it's strong, swim gets a prickly feeling) Not as healthy though, swim would recommend a bong or chewing if one is interested in health concerns. Chewing is amazing if swiy has high sensitivity to salvia. Sal-A |

Re: What pipe for salvia?
Swim has used Salvia (20X) out of a wooden pipe and metal pipe...
Both worked well... The Wooden pipe was not a tobacco pipe (Swim wasn't sure how a tobacco pipe pulls in comparison to a marijuana pipe)... Swim never recommends a Saliva joint as him and most people he knows only require 1-3 hits... and they need HUGE, DEEP, LONG, Kill-your-lung hits... Swim believes you should always use a pipe. |

Re: What pipe for salvia?
A glass bubbler is actually perfect for most types.
The only time swim would not recommend a bubbler is if swiy is smoking a really high extract in small doses (since there's isn't that much smoke to begin with, it prolly won't make it to swiy's lungs). Sal-A |

Re: What pipe for salvia?
Bongs are an absolute must in Swim's opinion.
Tabacco pipes are BAD for this sort of thing. Swim speaks form the experience of wasting roughly 4 hits of 50x. WASTED. Virtually no effect whatsoever. Swim thinks this is due to the shape of the tabacco pipe as it allows more air flow than a weed pipe. Again. Bongs HIGHLY reccomended. Sally joints sound like a bad idea but swim has read nothing on this and it doesn't seem practical. Here is a little bit of info on lighters: BUTANE fuels all handheld lighters except Zippos (Or knock-off wick style "windproof" lighters). Including BICs. Swiy needs a TORCH lighter (sometimes referred to as "jet" lighter). However there are TWO kinds of torch lighters. Make sure the one Swiy gets for the purpose of burning Salvia is a thin straight blue flame. The kind Swiy DOESN'T want has a little stone that keeps the flame going (Which are often advertised as have a flame that turns green though not always). Look for that stone. When you see the two different kinds you can easily identify them. Typically one can find a good lighter like this in the camping section of national and regional chain department stores. Otherwise they are often sold at Convience marts and Tabacco shops. Not always though, one just has to shop around and know what one is looking for.
