Re: Whats better to get 8g or 16g chargers?
8g is the standard size for chargers, and therefore these are the easiest size to find. I've also found that 16g chargers are no cheaper per gram, although YMMV.
16g crackers can generally be easily adapted to take 8g chargers by the use of packing at the bottom as the only difference is in the length of the chargers. SWIM has one of those ultraflate bike-tire inflaters that is supposed to take a 16g CO2 chargers, but has adapted it to take standard 8g N2O chargers with some washers. For SWIM, an 8g charger is a full lungful. In my view, I'd get 8g chargers and either an 8g cracker or do a DIY modification on a 16g cracker. |

Re: Whats better to get 8g or 16g chargers?
SWIM prefers to use a simple metal cracker and heavy duty balloon. It takes 8g canisters, don't think I've ever seen a cracker made for 16g in a physical store before, so it works in SWIM's situation. Only problem is tolerance developing quickly and 8g not delivering the kick you're used to.
