Oral use - Ambien (Zolpidem) Basic Questions re Recreational Use

Ambien does mess you up to an extent, if I stay up on it I have distorted/blurred vision, slight euphoria, kind of a feeling like when you're really drunk with and some very mild hallucinations mixed in. If you've ever been EXTRELY deprived of sleep that's kind of what it's like, as some people kind of described it. This doesn't happen to everyone though, some feel nothing at all, some just feel hungover or drunk.

I've snorted 20mg of ambien
several, and It messed my dumb ass up. Everything was like a dream, and
the walls and ceiling would move in waves. One time I tried standing
up, but one of my feet were on the other, and i couldn't get up if my
life depended on it. I was completey wrecked. It does burn a little
bit, and after a few times of doing it, i go really nautious when i
snorted it, so I havn't done it in a long time.



However, if you like going into a different reality then give ambien a try.

So what? Just because it is prescribed as something like a sleep aid, cough medicine, or anti-anxiety medicine, does not mean it does not have other uses. You obviously have never tried it. I do not smoke marijuana with it and it gets you high. I wouldn't call it "tripping" its just a wierd one of a kind pill high. It feels alot like being drunk, nice euphoria, and a little bit of noticable visuals, alot of people say it feels like marijuana. Yes dmt is much stronger, but it is more powerful than just about any substance. The feeling of ambien is nothing like other sleep aids, such as diphenhydramine, in fact ambien doesn't even make me sleepy, it just gets me high. I have use valium alot for recreational purposes but after trying ambien I much rather use ambien than any benzo, the high is much more powerful.

Ambien is stupid in my opinion, it is a very short experience and just amde me feel weird for about 10 mins. And then i felt sleepy afterwards, dont bother.

I've been prescribed Ambien also as a sleep aid. WHen I took it I never tripped and it passed very quick if I didn't get to sleep right away. I really prefer xanax for the nice floaty feeling it gives me. Xanies tend to make me blackout and forget as well as ambien, but it never made me trip.


About the TRIPPING thing, I have heard of this and talked to some professionals about this. It only affects some people this way with an unbalanced chemistry in their brain related to bipolar and manic depression. My friend told me she always tripped on it, she's a littlle batty, and has been on paxil before. I'm not a doctor, but I can see the truth to this myth since all people I know that said they tripped had also been prescribed antidepressants as well.

I dont want to come off too cocky as well, but if you happen to know of REALLSD in the US that isntover 5 years old, props to you. I havent seen good dose in years, and i followed phish forthe summer a few years back, hit bonnaroo all three years. Many people here seem to be talking about or using ambien to "trip" as
an alternative to more traditional trip substances like LSD, mushrooms,
RCs, etc. I would just like to add that in my experience, ambien is
only very marginally enjoyable on its own, but can be MINDBLOWING when
combined with a hardcore psychedelic.



I have done 10mg ambien while tripping on 4-HO-DIPT and after snorting
2C-T-7, and on both occasions the trips were RADICALLY altered, for the
better. OEVs that were merely "there" before became completely
realistic dreamlike hallucinations. For the hardcore tripper I cannot
recommend enough the usage of ambien on the downside of a nice strong
visual trip. It's fucking incredible.

note this, ambien will make you out of it without pot. SWIM has taken up to 80mg (spaced out) and this was a BAD IDEA. Couldn;t remebv\er shit SWIM is lit up on 25 mg of ambien right the hell now, good times, bad grammar, fun

if you keep taking ambien to trip eventually youll find out as I did why thats a bad bad idea......now everytime Im on them I feel as though Ive taken a bunch of x, and I projectile vomit, odd black substances. every time, Ive tried it about 5 since the negative effects became dominant.

Zopiclone is somewhat recreational its a benzo... Taking a few can cause you to be relaxed, sluggish, almost drunk feeling. Im not very experienced with em tho so anyone got stuff 2 add?

Dont drink while taking them or drive!

SWIM never felt any effect from them apart from a horrible metallic taste. Didn't even help him sleep.

Yeh, SWIM was prescibed these once for sleeping but they didnt help at really....and they just left a horrible taste all the next day.

SWIM thinks Zolpidem are much better for sleeping and maybe for recreational but usually they just put SWIM to sleep lol.

its great for recreation...if your idea of recreation is full blown delusions where you and your zolpiclone using friends think you're ninjas and all the sober friends have pictures to prove it. i gueess the point is to have a really good trip sitter...because while it may not be as fun as acid or shrooms, the involvement level is about the same.

SWIM thoroughly enjoys the recreational effects of Zopiclone, like Ambien (Zolpidem, which SWIM loves by the way) Zopiclone is not a benzo but it does bind to the GABA-BZ (benzo) receptor sites, which results in similar action. SWIM feels a lot more energetic and social when using Zolpidem than when using benzos though.

swim was prescribed these for insomnia. i hope they dont keep swim feeling energetic...

SWIM also can second that experience. SWIM uses Zopiclone's when He has had too many days of CWE's. I find that the experience mutes most of the minor withdrawls, and also you feel very relaxed on them as well (which is always nice, insn't)

SWIM finds 2 x 7.5mg taken a with and a little after a glass of grapefruit juice (not 100% sure of potentation, however SWIM likes it as a drink awayway) every 4-5 hours througout the day makes for a bearable adjustment period after some serious CWE binges.

Add some loperamide and the world would not know about the chemical chaos your body is going through as it rattles its way back to equilibrium.

They work very well if taken as prescribed, but something about taking 10 or 15 of them and SWIM gets very energetic albeit delerious.
