Alternatives to alcohol?

Think swim has problems with his liver, and been ordered to stop drinking by the doctor...

So what do you all think is a good social lubricant that swim can take instead of booze?

xtc get swim to hammerd and his eyes roll. Coke bad for the heart... so swim is looking for a substance thats not going to do as much damage and make swim feel good and chatty! i.e swim don't wanna look tooo drugged up when in the pub drinking his cola!

Re: Alternatives to alcohol

Perhaps benzodiazapines would appeal to SWIY.

Although I'm not sure about how they affect the liver, so one would want to look into that first.

Benzodiazapines are OK on the liver although certain benzo's should be avoided if one has liver problems (the shorter acting benzo's are more easily metabolised and are thus preferable if any liver disorders are present).

For those that like them (some do while others don't feel much positive effect at all) it's advisable to use them very infrequently. Well known for having the worst withdrawals of any drug and damn easy to get hooked on.

in swim's opinion, the withdrawal from benzos is equally as bad as alcohol. swim is not sure if theyre easier on the liver but it is just a warning.

wow thanks for the replys
well benzos the only problem is swim would need a script.
Kratom swim has just ordered and should be here any day! But swim thought kratom might prove dificult to use in public if swim needed a topup!
GHB or GLB made swim fall asleep in the street once so maybe swim does not know how to dose it?

First of all, GHB and GBL are two different drugs, though quite alike. GHB makes Stan happy and talkative while GBL only makes him bored and tired in comparison. He also considers GHB much easier on his body.

The dose is also extremely important, I suggest that SWiY looks into that. Check erowid.

PS: The best way to use GHB in a safe way, is to carefully prepare it SWiYself. Don't just buy it from a stranger.

Kratom should be easy to use... Presumably SWIY's getting kratom extract, so just go to a washroom and eat some of it. SWIY should check his/her teeth in the mirror before coming out of washroom though since it tends to really stick. Also, make sure not to eat too much because it can give one of the worst nauseas of SWIY's lifetime.

As a side note: I don't think it'd be a good alternative to alcohol since the effects are totally different? At low dosage the effects from kratom should be somewhat akin to having a couple of large cups of coffee... At higher doses it acts as analgesic but again, SWIM can't recommend mod-high doses for the first timers for the reason stated above.

ah ok, yes to be honest swim has had similar results with GHB and GBL, GHB seemed much more euphoric and warm to swim. But swim thought it was just him as swim was told it turns into GHB in your body.

It's totally harmless, it's metabolised into CO2 and H2O(Carbon dioxide and water)

LSD is not exactly a substitute for alcohol, not at all actually. With alcohol it's no problem being among sober people, which is a different matter with LSD. Comparing a psychedelic to a depressant downer is like comparing apples to ... cauliflowers.

Please read what the OP said, he wanted a social lubricant, which LSD isn't.

swim is gonna try 12.5g of bali comercial kratom for his first time.
swim likes LSD but swims afraid its probably the hardest drug to source in the UK now. swim would probably find it easier to get some DMT than LSD

Re: Alternatives to alcohol

If GHB sourcing is an issue, swim would suggest phenibut. Also large doses of Red Bull seem to put people who cant drink into a partying mode. For those suggesting Kava, correct me if Im wrong but isnt that very hard on the liver. LSD is a little too extreme to be a social drug, but depending on swiys mental constitution some of the phenethylamines may work well. SwiECL has said before on the forum that he enjoys taking a low dose of 2c-e before hitting up a bar.

Indeed. He has tried various substances in a social setting, once he was familiar with them. 2C-I was best, followed by 2C-E, then DXM (1st or 2nd plateau). He didn't like DiPT so much in public. He liked 2C-E and DXM, but thinks others may not like it (and may even hate it). He thinks 2C-I would work for almost anyone due to its upbeat and empathic nature. A few drinks mix well with it, calming the overstimulation without harming the trip much.

But who knows whether any of these would be better for his liver than alcohol...

Re: Alternatives to alcohol

Someone somewhere may have heard that a bit of K (maybe ~50ml?) gives a feeling somewhat akin to a couple of beers (relaxed feeling + slight motor impairment/slowing down of vision) but without the outgoing stimulant effect (which alcohol is, at lowish doses). The said someone also heard that K provokes interesting thoughts while alcohol doesn't

I'm only posting this as a general info. for the users viewing this thread. K isn't recommended for SWIB since it's metabolized by liver... sorry...

ah so K is bad for the liver? thats a shame as thats SWIM name comes from his method of K administration!
phenethylamines are proving rare again in the UK, 2C-I was very intense last time SWIM tried it!
