Setting - Advice for a Solo LSD Trip

he does not have problems being alone

It's all about set and setting.. Some people might disagree but I'd say if you feel comfortable enough to consider taking it alone then you should go for it. Reality will always be here when you come down.

You will probably be fine.

If things go wrong, you will have no safety net in the form of a sitter. If you are willing to take that risk and accept the consequences if you are unlucky then that is your choice to make.

Personally, Swim has never had a bad trip either (out of 4 times) and wouldn't risk taking LSD alone until he has at least had the experience of dealing with having a bad trip.

SWIM does not really recommend that... Although it can actually be peaceful at times... =)

First time SWIM took lsd he was alone from the peak onwards and it was amazing. Sounds like you have alot you can do aswell so go for it.

SWIMS first time tripping alone was great, he watched Pink Floyd the wall. The animations in that with the music playing while tripping balls is one of the most amazing things he has ever experienced. However SWIMS second time alone he did no have as much fun, he actually had a pretty bad trip. What happened was SWIMS phone kept ringing, he wasn't sure whether to answer it or not or whether he was imagining it ringing. So he decided to unplug the phone so that it wouldn't disturb him anymore, but he forgot to unplug the second phone. So when the phone started ringing again after he thought he had unplugged it he stood next to the phone and muttered "That's impossible!", he really freaked out, this worsened when a man started ringing his doorbell, probably just a charity but it freaked him out even more. He then began to hear his mother talking to him through the radio telling him he is in a coma and he needs to wake up and get out by answering the phone next time it rings. But then he was scared of who or what the inner demon is that is phoning him.

Lesson learned, make sure you unplug all your phones or turn them off before you start tripping!

Tripping alone is always much more intense, be prepared for loss of self if you go for it. Good luck!

I'm sorry if SWIM is cutting in or breaking some rule :/

But SWIM's pretty much made up his mind about tripping by himself, only, in the city armed with only his iPod, NDS and Notepad+pen for recording events of the day.

He's taken Acid 4 times now with friends and feels quite comfortable with the drug and believes he could handle a day out on his own. SWIM only plans on dropping 1 trip but will make sure it's a real nice day too. As in weather, not too hot or cold and being in a comfortable mindset as well.

This won't be for 2 weeks or so as he has a gig coming up soon

Thoughts? suggestions? advice?

On thing swim noticed about experiences in the city is that they get REALLY random. Like running into people and weird coincidences. If swiy knows people in the area be prepared to see someone, that swiy knows and swiy also needs to constantly remind himself that it is all internall and no one knows what is going on until swiy inadvertantly says "I'm trippin!!" to the wrong person. Otherwise enjoy the randomness that the day will bring

One thing that has worked really well for people I've talked to about solo experiences is knowing that there are one or more people one can call if things get too intense. I've heard that tripping alone can be rewarding, but since it's just one person, subtle variations in mood or thought pattern can end up driving the experience pretty far in one direction. Having someone to call "just in case" can itself be quite reassuring, even if you never pick up the phone.

That is, assuming one can find and operate the phone.

Swim takes the LSD while sitting and relaxing in his room, and when he feels like it wanders around town with his i-pod, essential put some slow happy music on it; phone fully charged on silent; try to avoid a crowded place- swim is always paranoid of the police especially when swim is sweating heavily lol; money or cash card to get something to drink Best of luck

SWIM would go as far as to say that if one does not take acid on their own ever, they haven't truly experienced acid. To experience the potential of your mind at its fullest, it is essential to do it alone. With the universe, of course.

draw, write your thoughts down, try writing a story, adventure when adventuring is necessary...

a guy I know is actually considering a solo trip on acid, he dropped it three times before with his friends; 1.5 blotters the first time (thought it wasn't stored properly so the trip wasn't that intense), 1.5 the second time (that was pretty intense) and the last time was 1 blotter (taken on his own but surrounded with other people, they were unaware of this though)

all the previous times were enjoyable for him but not very different than a really, REALLy powerfull high from cannabis, with few additional (and rather minor) physical sensations, there was no halucinations or anything like that, so he is considering eating 2 hits this time, being on his own

he never ever had a bad trip on anything (even during several experiments with salvia he was more shocked and amazed than tarrified even though the actual experience would be very much terrifying for an average peson), is a positive thinking person, open minded and on good terms with himself, so he thinks he will be just fine, but he would welcome any tips or suggestions

he has also read a lot of trip reports and came to a conclusion that his hits were rather weak and perhaps it's time for a stronger dose... his trips were very nice, thought-provoking and enjoyable, but he has a feeling that the substance has much more potential

SWIM always finds that he has to find something to do when he trips with other people which makes the experience a little less enjoyable and adds lots of pressure. But that's just swim I suppose.

Solo on the other hand, he can do whatever he wants. Anything, Nothing. They're both fun. And the glimpses of insights are a big bonus. It gives swiy something to think about and work towards.

Swim has discovered a lot about his musical self from tripping alone. Swim recommends it, if one is confident in ones self.
