Re: where does it all come from?
This is an international forum. Doctors in other parts of the world are much less reluctant to prescribe strong opiates. And then there's the black market.
If the codeine is not adequately relieving SWIYs back pain the doctor should precribe something stronger. SWIY should make an appointment with a pain-management specialist. |

Re: where does it all come from?
also swims docter keeps telling her that the way to get the pain in her back to go away is exercise.. and that she really dosnt need to be taking painkillers.
and that the docters goal is to get swim off of painkillers for good. but swim has had this back problem for 6 years now and has done exersises, but still nothing seems to stop. is her docter talking shit? the very idea of not being able to have painkillers when swim needs them is scary, and swim insists she is not addicted to pain meds in the way that some ppl who take upto 30 tabs a day are. should swim get a new docter perhaps? and if not what should swim say to her docter to get her docter to beleve that she just isnt some whiney 20 yr old wanting a fix. |

Re: where does it all come from?
If SWIY needs adequate pain treatment, than going to a painspecialist would be best, though even better would be to try other alternatives first, and use strong painkillers as a last resort, they can be best avoided if possible. A chiropractic or acupuncture can be very effective for some people.

SWIM here has actually had a hard time. After about 7 years of chrons/IBS pain he has only recently been perscribed Oxy. 10mg twice daily. SWIM got Tramadol rather easily for pain when he asked about it. Try asking your doctor for this as it isnt such a bad pain releiver and from what SWIM has experienced it works much better for women. If pain is really your issue this would be something I recommend giving a whirl. SWIM thinks Tramadol rocks Codeine. SWIM has had to see quite a few different doctors. So maybe trying a new doctor might be of help. SWIM actually had the best of luck seeing one of the cheapo docs that help poor people. And another way SWIM has been succesful in finding pills is that he has had a drug habit (weed) ever since high school. So SWIM knows people who have "connections" SWIM can get 40mg oxys from a street vendor. Codeine isnt so bad. But if SWIY tells the doc that the APAP hurts her belly they might give her something like oxycodone which doesnt have any APAP. Also...alot of people get the stuff from people like you ![]() all too often you will read posts like "SWIM has a friend who has a script for..." |

Re: where does it all come from?
Here in the uk you wont get anything stronger than codeine or tramadol for back pain until you've been through chiropracters/neurosurgeons,then had scans, and if there is a demonstratable problem you'd be offered surgery,if there isnt an obvious problem you'd maybe get referred to a pain specialist who'll try epidural injections, the days of uk doctors dishing out strong pain medications are over, only those with cancers/trauma and other chronic painful conditions get these medications,as doctors now have so many more options in their arsenal to treat pain and its causes, also here in the uk,pills like oxycontin/mst/fentanyl etc.etc. are very rarely seen on the streets as the goverment has them strictly controlled and so diversion is very rare, plus as heroin is so cheap and plentiful, there's no point in selling them.

Re: where does it all come from?
"pills like.... FENTANYL...." Erm no. Fentanyl is not available as a pill, period, anywhere in the world. (It's a simple question of bioavailability). Very strong painkillers are in fact rare in the UK from either licit or illicit sources, which is a shame as poor quality, mixed-with-fuck-knows-what diamorphine doesnt suit me. Fortunately SWIM has connections to Turkish and Israeli sources and has already experienced success in obtaining Xanax, Concerta XL and Ritalin; he'd have no problem obtaining methadone, oxycontin 80mg etc. if needed.

Re: where does it all come from?
in the US the gov't often pays for the diversion of prescription narcotics via medicaid.
all of the opiates SWIM uses he gets from his dealer who gets them from crack-cocaine addicts who will swap their monthly script for 100 bucks so they can get high on THEIR drug of choice. |
