CWE/Butalbital?

Hey everyone. First off this is swim's first post and swim has truly fallen in love with Drugs-Forum. Now to my question....Swim has recently come into possesion of about 70 generic Fiorinal. These contain: 30mg codeine phosphate/40mg caffeine/100?mg aspirin/50mg Butalbital(barbiturate).

Swim is doing a CWE right now, just getting ready to filter. Does anyone know anything about the solubility properties in water of Butalbital?

OK, swim just filtered and the water (post filtration) was nearly crystal clear. Swim used 5 capsules so swim should have around 150mg of codeine phosphate. There is a good amount of filtrate left in the coffee filter so maybe swim removed the majority of the Butalbital. The only info Swim found on the solubility properties of the barbiturate was that it takes 1 liter of water to dissolve 1700mg.

If any of you guys could help I'd appreciate it. Swim is not going to drink this until I find out a little more about the Butalbital. Oh, yeah Swim ate 2 of the capsules earlier and copped a pretty good opiate high. That's strange too because it normally takes 30mg of oxycodone to get swim going. Maybe it was the barb'?

The CWE with Fiorinal seems to have worked well. SWIM drank the extraction very quickly(pretty nasty by the way!) and felt opiate effects within 20-30 minutes. Almost immediately a strong caffeine buzz kicked in(around 200mg), but it subsided within 20 minutes. The caffeine really retracts from the innitial opiate effects.

SWIM does think a minor amount of the barbiturate passed into the extraction, but not too much. SWIM only felt a minor barb' effect. SWIM was pretty confident that the CWE would remove the Butalbital after SWIM found a document on the internet that stated "Butalbital is slightly soluble in cold water."

SWIM put emphasis on keeping the solution very cold through out the entire process, and even though the filtered solution was crystal clear, SWIM did a second ice-cold filtration through two coffee filter just to be sure.

Overall SWIM thinks this was succesful and he appreciates all the info on Drugs-Forum........................Now if SWIM can just find a way to remove the Da$% caffeine!!! If he tried to take 240mg codeine, that would be around 320mg of caffeine. NO THANKS.

My panda would like to emphasize that he didn't really enjoy any of the experiences he had with butalbital, even the ones where he got fairly strong effects. Its not a very good barbituate, and not even a very good drug. This is just panda's opinion. For him, a CWE probably wouldn't be worth the effort, even if you had free pills.

Not sure about how much Butalbital would be actually extracted with such a CWE, but it would be hard to really tell in any case unless alot was taken. To reiterate, this isn't worth the effort in my panda's view.

You could try activated charcoal to try to remove the caffeine from the mix.

Bajeda, thanks for the input. SWIM was just concerned how much Butalbital was safe to consume. SWIM feels that some of it is being extracted and SWIM needs to do a CWE anyway because of the Aspirin/APAP.
