Ketamine & Sleep paralysis

Ok so swim's been doin K frequent, few time a day good 2 month. He's Now gettin these weird feelin everytime he wakes up. He has all his senses see, hear, smell, but he cannot move. He tries to scream or speak but nothin happens he has to wait a good 30 seconds before he's able to move. It's the worst feelin, swim does not know how to get rid of these? has anyone else gotten this from frequent K use, or is this just somethin swim gettin not related.

Re: K & Sleep paralysis

SWIM has had this ever since he was about 14. But now he has realized it doesn't happen when he takes amphetamines during the day. Weird? Not exactly sure why the amphetamines make it stop, but he used to get them every night before he started taking Dexedrine again. But if swim takes a break from my Dex he gets them with out fail.

Re: K & Sleep paralysis

SWIM got them too, but SWIM thinks it was before frequently using K. SWIM actually had some practices on having OBE without any drug, and from that time SWIM has sleep paralysis some nights, mostly when he has bad dreams.

Re: K & Sleep paralysis

Sleep paralysis can happen if you don't get enough sleep. Basically what happens is your brain turns your consciousness on but leaves the rest of your body paralyzed (which happens during sleep). I used to get some pretty surreal images with sleep paralysis (alien abductions, change in the angle of walls, out-of-body experience, etc) and it was never a pleasant experience... it hasn't happened to me in about a year and half though.

Er, anyways my point is that I don't think it's related to one's using drugs unless it leads to severe sleep deprevation. I don't think it's related to K or any specific drugs.

Re: K & Sleep paralysis

Yeah, I don't think it caused swims sleep paralysis exactly, but it has something to do w/ it's prevention. Because when swim takes his Dextroamphetamine prescription during the day, for some reason he never gets it later that night. Yet, any day he doesn't take it, that night he will have it usually two or three times a night. It almost feels like every time it happens hes using up some sort of hormone that is residual. Because the first paralysis of the night is always the worst then they slowely get shorter and less psychedelic/abstract/dissociated until he can stay asleep or wake up and be able to move. SWIM has had it happen before when he wasn't even asleep. He was just sitting there watching television before he went to bed and all of a sudden it felt like he blacked out and then he couldn't move and he heard all this distorted vocalization and there was this rippling pattern all over his walls. Very strange, maybe the whole Dextroamphetamine link is psychosomatic/placebo effect?

Re: K & Sleep paralysis

SWIM usually control what he see during a sleep paralysis, he actually get used to it and it is pretty normal for him, he can almost induce sleep paralysis at will. SWIM can hear a buzzing sound and noises, he can increase that sound at will, don't know what is it but can control it somehow. He sometimes think about beautiful girls, angels, etc and can see them and talk to them by his mind. SWIM always know their names when they come in and SWIM actually had sex with these girls once. But always get up in the middle.

Anyway I agree that it can't be related to K or other drugs, cuz Ive heard from so many people experiencing sleep paralysis. But for SWIM it is not the sleep deprivation that cause sleep paralysis, he always get full 8-9 hours night sleep. So sleep deprivation can't be the cause, at least for all people.
