ghb date rape drug? taste !?!

Everytime ghb is in the media its the bad date rape drug. Sorry, I can't believe.
I can't imagine why they should use GHB or how they use it. Na-GHB tastes so damn salty.
If you really want to cause deep "sleep" you need more than 5 or 6 gram Na-GHB
and everybody would taste it out from everything (water, beer, cola etc.) and throw his/her drink away. Even GBL tastes so bad so everyone would notice GBL in the drink.
How is the taste of the other salts of GHB? are they tasteless? Potassium-, Calcium-, Magnsesium-GHB. Is same high dosage needed?

I think There are much "better" things to put someone into sleep with lower doses needed and less taste, for example benzodiazepines like lorazepam or alprazolam.

If one is drunk, or under reasonable influence of alcohol, most people don't taste it, while they would when they are sober. And they will get knocked out of a much smaller amount due to the alcohol, another CNS depressant. Most benzodiazepines or their binders also taste nasty, or are not powerful enough.

Bongo never touched GHB or L. But he did have access to Rohypnol. He took a mess of them with a few brews. Didn't do a damn thing close to putting him out. If anyone had tried to slip him a banana - they'd have been the one in the hospital.

my grandmother almost lost a nipple to drinking on aledge roofies.trashed a hotel room,the cops showed up after the people in the next room complained about the holes in there wall and the fact that there was a psycho with a fire extinguisher laughing like a madman,he was then choked slammed by officer friendly,a local cop who did educational stuff at the local schools.

Interestingly, there was a story a few months back in the local Silicon Valley rags about an attempted date rape.

A waitress noticed a couple acting strangely on a date. When the female left the table, the waitress saw the man pour some powder in her beer. Thinking quickly, she removed the girl's beer saying something about the beer being "off." Then later, after notifying a colleague about the situation, the guy was once again seen slipping something into her drink, and once again the observant waitress soon replaced the tainted drink with a fresh one. Police were called at some point soon after and the asshole was charged.

Anyway, one of the two drinks tested positive for lorazepam, and the other I confess to forgetting, but it sure wasn't GHB!
