Equianalgesic: An Easy to Read Chart.
Doctors and patients will find this chart very interesting. It is available as a pdf, also. (Please note that the two charts differ in some dosage expectations)
The "gold standard", if you will, in comparing doses, is 30 mg of Oral Morphine. From there, all equal analgesic dosages of opiates are formulated. For instance: 30 mg Morphine orally, is equal to 200 mg of codeine is equal to 20 mg of Oxycodone, etc. It should be noted by Doctors and patients alike, however, that these are approximates. True equianalgesic dosing should err on the low side. That is to say if you are currently using 200 mg of codeine a good starting dose of Oxycodone might be 10 mg instead of 20 mg. When discussing pain medication with your doctor, it is best to be well informed. |

Re: Equianalgesic: An Easy to Read Chart.
Please upload the pdf to the file archive under Opiates and Opioids.
It's very easy to do: Go to the "Quick Links" drop-down at the top of this screen. Select "Add File" and off you go! EDIT: It's interesting that (where SWIJ is) the "Gold standard" is 10mg oral Morphine, and all the conversion are done to that. |

Uploaded. That was easy. (Although I put it under addiction, dependance and withdrawal by mistake.)
