Salvia Divinorum, MDMA, and schizophrenia???

Schizophrenia and drugs period are a bad combination i thought. Yet alone schizophrenia and hallucinogens. Well getting down to the topic. I know someone who had latent schizophrenia and had done way too many drugs and had become schizophrenic. Im not sure what medication he was on for his schizophrenia but i know he still is a drug user.

One day he was on ecstasy and bought a couple bowls of some 5x salvia from one of my friends and went on his way. That evening we got some news that someone was on ecstasy and smoked some salvia and ended up in the hospital and almost died.It turned out it was the same guy. He had freaked out and had a panic attack i guess and then blacked out and went into respiratory and cardiac arrest. My friend felt liek shit for selling it to him but had not known about the guys schizophrenia either. Not long after, im not sure how long, but the cops were involved and came to my friend and were trying to charge him with attempted murder or manslaughter or something but he told hem the truth and salvia is legal so nothing could be done about it.

I think the guy was asking for it when he decided to do the salvia. I havent even thought of doing salvia when ive been anything other than stoned off weed. But yeah i thought it was pretty crazy. Anyways, does anyone else know of any similar incidences to this one? What do you think caused the strange reaction or was it just the combination?

Some of what you say, swia really doubts some if any of that happened. a panic attack possibly yes which could cause bad hyperventilation to the point where they pass out but not black our, but to go into cardiac arrest seems a little far fetched. Seems like someone likes to really tell stories. unless it was a really bad pill he was sold. other then that swia has known other monkey to smoke salvia under the mdma or supposed pill types and be fine with no adverse effects schizophrenia is not a physical condition well yes and no but effects more the mental state rather then the body itself.

but a little info on the subject;

Drugs do not cause schizophrenia they jus waken it in people who have a family history or a dormant condition in some cases some people who are that label tend to find comfort in some drug use rather then it causing, Having said that if it did not cause it in that person then at that point in there life it could happen another time possibly because of a stressful event or any number of reasons it varies.

Anyone can get drug induced psychosis however which usually subsides when the drug in question is eliminated from the body.

If I am correct that was basically the deffinition for latent schizophrenia... I can see how my story would sound doubtful but its true. I live in a small town and my mother is a nurse. I dont know if the exact reason was cardiac arrest but he did need to be revived. Could have been somethign else. But before you go and say "sounds like someone likes to tell stories" name someone else who has schizophrenia, and combined ecstasy with salvia. Doesnt seem that unlikely at all to me. Saying that it is unlikely is like saying that it is unlikely for someone with heart problems to have greater risks while doing cocaine. The human mind is a strong thing. I believe that you can be in such a state of mind that it causes your body to react in ways you could only imagine.

Actually one of swia associates has schizophrenia and has taken and tried mdma with a number of substances and been fine. Due to her mindset before the experience. she stays away from certain substances thou as it tends to make her condition worse, but she's never had an issues with mdma or with Salvia combined or alone . it makes no difference, everyone is different and im not gonna debate with how strong the human mind is and what it can do.

Swia also has issues with mental health aspects and her drug use alone seems separate to that and seems more or less to keep her on track. Swia hates people who blame things saying it caused them when they were there already. also is swiy mum a psychiatric nurse, someone who specializes with mental illness? no? what relevance has she to this? lol

Reality is reality. Swia still sticks to her opinion thou.

swim has schizophrenia and smokes salvia on occasion and swim is known to pertake the herb too and have no problems. before swim had swims episode breakdown 5 years ago swim would halucinate alot from drugs. swim finds a salvia trip calm compared to a psychotic episode that swim experienced 5 years which got swim locked up in the hospital for 72 hours and put on medication.
