Can One Get High Off Seeds?

One was wondering if he could get a buzz or high from the opium poppy seeds.

If so, how many seeds (roughly, or in grams) would he need to crush in water and drink sludge?

Yes, you can. Try 150-300 grams. What you do is take the seeds, mix with water or lemon juice (SWIM finds lemon juice soaked poppy seeds to be more potent) for 20minutes to an hour, then strain and drink. Nice opium high.

i am glad someone mentioned that, the pH level of the soltuion is important. do some google research and you will easily find what you need to know there. The reason for the higher potency is because the solution becomes acidic. Acidic solutions are more readily absorbed by the blood and more easily processed by the body than alkaine solutions. average pH of human blood is slightly alkaine usually around the 7.4 to 7.5 mark on the pH scale (the scale is from 1 to 14, 1 being VERY acidic and 14 being VERY alkaine) imagine the scale being like a mirror. assume that 7 = 0 and everything above and below is either + or - mirrored images of things usually bond alot easier in the pH scale of things. therefore something around the area of 6.5 would be more absorbable and bond more easily with something around the pH of 7.5 etc. do some research, perhaps this has helped a few people make things a bit more eye opening (or eye closing as the case may be)

This depends on your tolerance level to opiates. Swim who has fair tolerance to opiates uses 500gms of poppy seeds from the supermarket on the odd occasion that he feels like a poppy high. People DO overdose and die from poppy seed tea as the strength of morphine and other alkaloids cannot always be determined and even the same brand of seeds can vary greatly in their strength.

This is very true, and something that SWIM should have included in his previous thread. However, SWIM does not have much of a tolerance for opiates, so he finds that even 120grams of seeds can suffice most of the time. As far as overdoses are concerned, just be aware that the person mentioned in that website used 3.5 POUNDS of seeds to make tea. It was determined by a medical examiner that there was approx. 581 milligrams of morphine present in the tea. If SWIY sticks with under 500grams of seeds, he is almost 100% safe in regards to overdoses; there simply isn't the possibility of enough opium being present.

Yes swim agrees totally. Sticking to under 500gms would be fairly safe but he recommends swiy's who are new to poppy tea and opiate naive swiy's stay around to doses of 120grams or so until swiys are very familiar with the effects of tea. Higher doses can cause a horrid nausea and the tea can be quite foul to drink. Swiy's would be advised that it can take quite awhile for the tea to kick in so redosing after an hour or so is not advised if you aren't feeling anything almost straight away like with pills etc. In swims experience it can take up to 3 and even up to 4 hours to feel the full effects of a dose of tea and it can often last a long time in your system. Of course if common sense is used and a lot of research done on this beforehand, harm will be minimised. Also there is still the risk of addiction to poppy tea too, something to keep in mind to swiys interested in it.

Yes a supermarket or even a bakery supplier or market. No questions are asked if bought in reasonable amounts like 500gms and under, and a person who resembles a tweaker would be wise to keep the amount of seeds bought to the amount they need just to be sure.

If one was going to a bakery supply store I think it would look more normal buying them in very large amounts ha. Swim usually just buys bulk seeds at the supermarket though. Very cheap source when bought in bulk.

1. So the potency varies as a result of the success of cleaning the seeds. Now, I'm not asking names outside of the sources section, but are there suppliers that are known for doing a sloppier job of this than others (i.e. is it worth shopping around?)

2. Onec the tea is made, could the morphine be isolated?

1. Different brands use different sources of seeds, and numerous factors (including the genus of poppy, wether the seeds are washed or not, etc...) affect the potency of the seeds. It is worth noting that even the same brand can change their suppliers from time to time and thus you can never be sure what you're gonna get, so be careful!

2. Swiy could theoretically isolate the morphine, but it wouldn't be worth his time or effort. Swim assumes that Swiy doesn't have a sophisticated chemistry lab at home...

Not that seeds don't work, but they naturaly don't contain any morphine. Thoeraticly (sp haha) you can go through 5 kilo's of seeds and not get high.

Its just sounds very unreliable/expensive to me.

PODS are a much better bet and somtimes they may not even work.

Here's one example of someone who died from an OD of poppy seed tea made with store-bought seeds:

According to this website the problem was due to variations in the morphine content, which resulted in an OD when he used a stronger than usual batch. The victim usually used 3.5 pounds (about 1.6 Kg) of poppy seeds. For one batch of seeds, this was OK; for another it was a lethal dose.

Be careful with this stuff chaps.

I whole heartedly agree with this statement, making a dried flower arrangement of a few poppy pods is a much better view than a pound of seeds.

As poppy seeds are legal, but opium decidedly not...

Suppose Milhous decides to buy 300g seeds and steep it in what turns out to be 1L "opium lemonade." Should he get busted, would this be "possesion w/ intent to deliver 1kg morphine?"

you have to be reaaly carefull though, the potency varies from batch to batch even from the same brand of seeds. the high is quite nice though.

Viewing an arangement of dried poppy pods isn't near as nausea's as viewing seeds. I'd get sick too viewing nothing but seeds.
