USER TURNS ON DEALER

A drug dealer was turned in to the police by a client - not for dealing drugs, but for charging too much.

Illegal drugs don't come cheap - especially if you pay by cheque.

A man who claims that his drug dealer altered the cheques he used to pay for his habit complained to police about his dealer's illegal activity.

"That wasn't right," the man told Langley RCMP. "Drugs cost enough these days."

Local RCMP spokesman Cpl. Dale Carr said a Langley resident called police on Tuesday, Nov. 23, to say that he had paid his drug dealer by cheque on two separate occasions.

His complaint, said Carr, was that the dealer then turned around and changed some of the numbers on the cheque before cashing them.

Police found the dealer and arrested him for altering a document.

He has been released on a promise to appear in court.

"Langley RCMP recommend not to use illicit drugs," said Carr.

"However, if you feel that you must use the drugs, it is not recommended that you pay by cheque."

"Often times, people involved in the selling of illicit drugs are engaged in other criminal activity," Carr noted, "and it would not be surprising that someone would choose to alter a cheque to their advantage."

Anyone with information about drug dealing is asked to call the Langley RCMP.

This could backfire on the dealer to. Suppose he changes the check and it bounces, you keep the exact amout in your account. Then you can say screw you.
