Weird Geeby
SWIM has made GHB from GBL and caustic soda....125ml GBL and 65g caustic soda
It doesn't seem right, taste, look anything When juice is added to two capfuls the liquid turns dark blue is SWIM gonna be poisened if they drink it? |

Re: Weird Geeby
Did SWIY heat the solution near 150 degrees celcius?
Did SWIY measure the pH of the solution? The liquid turning dark blue does not sound right at all. |

Re: Weird Geeby
I recall hearing that its a good idea to clour GHB with blue food colouring
SWIM has nevernoticed this with the GBL but maybe something to do with the supplier been responsible?......Again SWIM hasn't noticed this with the pure GBL from the supplier |

Re: Weird Geeby
Then SWIY knows what to do before starting to drink it.
pH indicator sticks are pretty cheap. The local pharmacy may sell them. The end result should be a clear, salty solution with a pH near 7. |

Re: Weird Geeby
Blue food coloring is a good idea to add to the GHB to prevent someone from believing it's water and drinking an overdose. It doesn't seem to have any relevance to SWIYs case.
Maybe it's possible to get some NaOH that is not food grade and contains some impurities that can cause the blue coloring. I don't know about this, someone else better chime in here. |

Just remember that the blue coloring is not necessarily an indication that the solution is too alkalic. The pH may be just right. Btw. what kind of juice did SWIY use? |

Re: Weird Geeby

Re: Weird Geeby
First of all is SWIY sure that the NaOH he used was just NaOH ?
Some hardware store brands have additional compounds with some of them even having metal filings in to enhance their drain clearing abilities. Theoretically it could be an additional compound in the GBL that has been added to prevent drink spiking. Not that it would be a bad thing except of course if we don't know what it is we can't say if it is safe. |

I think the supplier I knows that the clientel they have will be abusing the product, hence they would not put amything unsafe in it |

Re: Weird Geeby
SERIOUSLY - Invest in some Ph strips OR buy a red cabbage and make some of your own (1 red cabbage leaf will be enough for a quick test).
Emergency wards noticed an unusual increase in the number of caustic burns to the mouth/throat as a result of badly measured precursors and failure to amend the resultant caustic Ph with HCl acid/White Vinegar. IT will be the some of the best money you've spent. (£3.99 + p & p for 10 packs of 20 strips which is cheap, expect to pay a little more, though) |
