Which is most "bang-for-buck" THC-wise?

SWIM recently acquired a Volcano Vaporizer and noticed that when his dog threw a small amount of dank in the chamber it produced a sweeter-tasting (due to flavinoids?) vapor, and quite a bit of it. SWIM has read that some better strains have 10-30% THC. Is it more efficient to buy these strains over "cheaper" ("mids") ones?
