SWIM often reads the advice to use a water-cooling smoking device for Salvia. However, since high temperatures are required to vaporise the psychoactive compound Salvinorin A(hence recommendations of torch lighters) from the plant material, couldn't the water-cooling be counter-productive?

Re: Water-cooling salvia smoke counter-productive to getting effects?
Swim has little experience with salvia, but he would assume you just need the heat from the flame for the initial vaporization, after that it may or may not matter. Don't quote this, as swim honestly does not know.

Re: Water-cooling salvia smoke counter-productive to getting effects?
Please do a search on this because in a way it was answered.
But anyways....SWIM thinks it's only counter productive with higher extracts. SWIY is right, it does cool the active component in salvia, however if SWIY is using leafs or 5X maybe, getting the smoke into SWIY's lungs becomes more important than the small amounts lost. If using a high extract (which usually means a lower dose), not all the smoke/vapors will make it into the lungs, usually this will be a problem for extracts 30X and up. This of course depends on the dose though. Sal-A |
