Feels like mdma... but no reaction...

SWIM recently went to a great music festival, and although he didn't want to partake in any substances originally, he got very drunk and therefore stupid...

It should be noted that he had first had a tiiiiiny dab of mdma and k off some friends, but then many hours later he found himself quite lost and ended up buying what he thought was mdma off a stranger.

The experience felt very much like mdma (difficult to discern from other experiences - he was very chatty and happy etc), and he even had the comedown effects the next day.

However, when he got home he tested the substance, and found it was not mdma (wasn't pma either which would react with robadrob)....

(the test kits work, because he tested a second time both that substance and some of his own mdma which reacted successfully)

very confusing... anybody got any ideas??? perhaps it may be a similar substance like mbdb (does that react?)

Forgot to say he doubts it was any kind of legal high/ncpp whatever they are these days because he had no trouble falling asleep (still feeling wonderful) after finally tracking down his friends 5ish hours later and hugging them lots and returning to his tent

Similarly, he doesn't think it could be because of what he took off his friends, because he kind of passed out (don't worry he was in safe hands) due to too much alcohol and came to feeling fine but without any mdma like effects...

he is puzzled :/

he might try this out (little doses at a time) next time he goes out to see if the effects are the same

MBDB will produce a typical "ecstasy" reaction with Marquis reagent. And anyone who's familiar with MDMA would be very unlikely to confuse the effects of the two.

Was the material in question in tablet form, or powder/crystal? Off the bat, I am at a loss for guesses. I presume the material was tested with Marquis? Your post is a little short on detail.

this was a (very very soft) powder, although there were a couple of larger fragments in the mix. Has the usual bitter taste, but agreed that could be anything :/

swim is not very experienced with k, perhaps it is possible he just felt very dancy from taking small dabs of it over time, and the chattiness was psychosomatic????

It could also be MDMA but with an additive that would ruin the test.

Or another derivative that show up from time to time, like MDE. But this is all speculation.

MDE also turns purple/black with Marquis.

This may sound stupid to you, but could it have been coke? Obviously the effects of coke and E are very different, but afterall it is a soft powder with larger bits in it, it was bitter, and it made you chatty and wanting to dance, which is just about exactly what coke does.

SWIM's mystery has been solved, he thinks it's ketamine with a teeny bit of other nasties like mcpp et al. what a pity he thought he may have discovered a new replacement drug for mdma

I suppose the festival just put him in a such a good mood that the other drugs he took just made him feel very similarly (it has happened once before off alcohol alone lol, I guess he should consider himself lucky that that can happen)

unfortunately, swim only bothered to buy the 3 simpler tests (EZ xtreme or something like that) as he mostly only gets nervous if speed and/or pma has been added.
